Even if he's fit, I don't expect him to start every game. Torres and Villa are going to get game time, Del Bosque hasn't been loyal to them and picked them in the squad for nothing

Yeah that's true. Plus Spain have 2 tough group games against Chile and Holland so they will struggle to rack up the goals during the group phase. Still I reckon Spain will definitely reach the semi finals therefore 7 games is more than enough for Costa to stamp his quality on the goalscoring market.

The 23/10 on offer for Costa to be top team goalscorer looks very very tempting also!

I just think with their attacking players they should win it,I watched Japan the other night and they struggled with Zambia as they were far more athletic which Japan werent used to, Im hoping Ivory Coast will be too strong for them and Didier will bully them off the park

That's a great bet for backing Chile actually. 50/50 for you either getting
the free bet back or having a (max) 20s shot at 40s

Just remember you will have to back something at evens or better to get your stake money back.

Brazil (-1) - I wouldnt be very sure of it happening, Croatia are quite a good side and they actually have the quality in midfield to at least break even 50.50 in possession IMO. Mandzukic upfront is dangerous and id definitely fancy them to get a goal. So that'd leave the bet needing at least 3 Brazil goals.

On the rest, it looks quite good it must be said!

A nice 4-0 by Ghana over South Korea tonight, although there were reports of illness this week among the Korean players.

    A: Brazil top
    B: Australia bottom
    C: Colombia qualify
    D: Italy qualify
    E: France qualify
    F: Argentina top
    G: Germany top
    H: Belgium qualify

12-Jun Brazil to beat Croatia 1/3
13-Jun Chile to beat Australia 4/9
14-Jun Uruguay to beat CostaRica 4/9
15-Jun France to beat Honduras 1/3
17-Jun Belgium to beat Algeria 1/2
17-Jun Brazil to beat Mexico 2/7
18-Jun Holland to beat Australia 1/3
20-Jun Italy to beat Costa Rica 2/5
21-Jun Argentina to beat Iran 1/6
21-Jun Germany to beat Ghana 2/5
22-Jun Portugal to beat USA 2/3
23-Jun Spain to beat Australia 2/9
23-Jun Brazil to beat Cameron 1/5
24-Jun England to beat Costa Rica 1/2
25-Jun Argentina to beat Nigeria 1/3
26-Jun Germany to beat USA 1/3

    €20 gets you €3,200

I'll be doin them as they happen rather than all at once as things may change (e.g. France were to be spectacularly bad) but this is the list I will try and stick generally to for the group games.

Spain conceded 2 goals in the 2010 WC and hardly any in qualifying. Unders in their matches look good. The dont score many so a Spain 1-0 against Holland is fine. England v Italy has 0-0 written all over it.

Read in the RP last night that around 66% of all 1st group round matches were under 2.5 goals. That decrease slightly in rounds 2 and 3.

Just got in on Immobile at 8/1 to be Italy's top scorer, seems like he's vying with Balotelli to be Italy's main striker.

Was sniffing around this market to see if there is any value blanket-betting the Unders or similar strategy

In 2010, 31 of the 48 Group matches had 2 goals or less which is a slightly less than 65%. The exact split is

    0 goals - 6 games
    1 goal - 13 games
    2 goals - 12 games
    3 goals - 9 games
    4 goals - 5 games
    5+ goals - 3 games

Don't think there's much point going back beyond 2010 for stats

It's priced up accordingly though with most games I looked at priced at ~ 1/2 for < 2.5 goals

I have a suspicion that there may be value in betting the Unders where it is priced at say 4/6 or better but I'd need to have a look at a few stats first

no just pick who comes 1st 2nd and 3rd in all 8 groups and put like €0.30 each and get a massive return of tens of thousands, but there is like 1 billion+ combinations though. ;)

He's currently around 25/1 for top goalscorer and I am very tempted to lump on but I'm just a bit concerned as to whether he is fully fit or not.

You're considering lumping a 25/1 shot who is currently injured?

    Aguero - - Messi
    Higuain

I got matched at 100 for Torres on Betdaq.

For the Australia game, Spain may decide to rest Costa for the tougher games, and I'd make Torres fav to start ahead of Villa or Fabregas if that's the case.

Spent a while deciding on my bets, here's what I've take so far:

    1st: 80cb8ccbd193f33fd104e436e4aaf859.png {}

    2nd: 6706477077a0daaef0eb632f30e2b6e2.png

    3rd: beda6a6468fc309acfaae7e179d223ce.png

    4th: 28c837625c688f92c769f957356e4965.png

    5th: 806f8e3f009efce7490b1876be77b085.png

    --

Quite confident that all of them will run very close. First 2/3 are massive odds, and stand a good chance in my book.

3rd and 4th jumped out to me. Hard to see Australia scoring too many, and 4/1 is a big price E/W. Was firstly tempted by Iran at 15/2, so backed them each-way as well.

Some great value to be had lads.

What kind of profit margin would we be talking by backing this as a matter of interest?

Each bet varies in terms of profit. If you were to put 50c on each of these I think your minimum return would be 900euro+ and your max gain being close to just under 2g's.

Anyone have any recommendations on accumulator on group dual forecasts? At the moment I'm looking at doing a €5 bet on Argentina-Bosnia, France-Switzerland, Russia-Belgium, and Brazil-Croatia, it returns €88. What do ye think?

Could paddy power refuse to pay out if I back two straight forecasts with same teams from same group on an online account? Can't see Belgium and Russia not getting through and backing Belgium 1st Russia 2nd at 9/4 and Russia 1st Belgium 2nd at 7/2 will return more than backing the dual forecast at evens.

getting sick of doing the tri casts, clicking like a mad c***, done about 30 @ €0.30 ea

Just wait until you think you've done them all and then you hear a pretty solid arguement for someone like Cameroon finishing 3rd in their group and you've gotta do another 20 slips!

First bet for me is Brazil, France and Uruguay to win their first matches 2/1.

    €15 Chile 50/1

    Martinez 3/1
    Vargas 4/1
    Fred 7/2
    Dzeko 6/4
    Lukaku 2/1

Each bet varies in terms of profit. If you were to put 50c on each of these I think your minimum return would be 900euro+ and your max gain being close to just under 2g's.
WHAT? I must be missing something here because that just seems like free money. Can this all be done on the one bookie site?

Sure there's only a very small chance of the bets coming off, they aren't arb bets.

    Have €20 on Argentina/Bosnia , France/Switzerland and Belgium/Russia as a straight forecast treble at 25/1.

Only worries for me are that Ecuador could beat Switzerland to 2nd behind France and that Russia might make a balls of it and crash out in the group.

Very confident of the other 4 progressing through and I'll be surprised if the 3 favourites don't top their groups.

just for anyone doing the mad tricast accumulators: make all of your selections together (2 combinations from group A, 4 from group B etc. etc.) and then in the bet slip just select the bottom accumulator option, this is all the possible eightfold combinations from your selections. I've just done my 64 there, far quicker.
