sowing lonicera from cuttings

    when is the best time to take cuttings for planting from a lonicera hedge.i took some cutting last year and stuck them in the ground and there growing fine i just forget what month it was when i did it. i took some few weeks ago and planted them and they look kinda dead .could some one tell me whens the best time (month) to take cuttings from this type of hedge for planting thanks in advance.

    I thought I'd replied to this before.

    When I cut my lonicera in the past and not picked it up from open soil, it often self rooted. During the summer months that is. Three cuts a year. May, September and some time in between.

    cheers for that. that sounds about right it prob would off been in around the summer months when i planted some cuttings .ill take some cuttings again in may and see what happens .i think i was too late in the year when i last took cuttings .

    if the weather is cold some stuck in around the edge of a pot and they will root quite quickly!:D

    works for all most shrubs, you can leave in a sheltered place, not full sun though if for any reason it is dry for a week or so, don't forget to water it :D
