Hi guys, Im looking for an idiots guide to setting up remote viewing of a dvr.
I bought and installed an Eneo cctv system for my house.
As I work away quite a lot I would like to be able to view from laptop and android phone.
The system is working grand I just cannot follow the remote viewing instructions that came with it.
I can view the dvr when im on same network in the house using NetViewer.2.0 whick came with the dvr.

The dvr does not seem to be obtaining an external ip address.

There is probably some settings changes needed on router.
    Its a Huawei O2 router.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The DVR should be assigned an internal IP address.
Probably best we do this step by step.
Do you know your internal network range?
What is the IP address of your router & modem?

    Router IP is 192.168.1.1
    Dvr is 192.168.1.100
When I change dvr from static to dhcp the ip address changes to 192.168.1.20 but I loose communication to my laptop in dhcp.

Ok leave it at static and 192.168.1.100
Now goto network settings on the DVR and post what other fields are required.

And now go to your router and forward ports 80,9000 + 18004 to 192.168.1.100

    Change DNS 1 to 8.8.8.8
    DNS 2 to 8.8.4.4

I might have to change router for this as options are very limited on it

The portforwarding is on the router.
Change the DNS on the DVR,
    Sorry if I was confusing.

Now find your WAN IP address from the Router/modem pages. Try and access the device via your mobile phone and see if it connects. You may need to use a dynamic dns service to remotely connect to your device unless your Router/Modem is given a WAN static IP address.

Are you using fixed or mobile broadband?

Ill be using fixed broadband to view from work and mobile when on the road.
Ill have a look in a bit fot wan ip. What do I do with the wan ip?

Is your home internet connection fixed line? The WAN IP is the IP address you'll be connecting to to view the camera.

Does your modem/router support ddns (dynamic DNS)?

Yes dvr is connected to fixed broadband.

Ill check about dns nearly sure I saw a setting for it

    I have the wan ip.
    I have dynamic routing options:
1st option is operation: passive or active.
2nd option is Version:1,2,both or off

I tried entering the ip address on mobile but says

Post up more details about your modem/router e.g. model number etc.

    Its a Huawei HG532c.

I don't think your modem supports dynamic DNS which will make it very difficult to keep track of the WAN IP of the router which is dynamically assigned every 24hrs or so - depending on your provider.....
