I've been trying to get the type of curls that cheryl has in the picture for ages but nothing seems to work. I've tried using tongs , curling wand , ghd and velcro rollers but to no avail ! :(

Any one have any idea what I might be doing wrong/ what I could do to get this kind of look in my hair ?!

Big heated rollers maybe? Your hair would have to be very long too!

I have similar length hair and to do this look I use a wand. I take a big chunk of hair, and wrap it around the wand up until about ear level, leave it for 10-15 seconds, remove it, leave to cool for 5 seconds and then brush through with a flat wide brush while it's still a bit warm. Works well for me, have long thick hair with a bit of a kink to it.

My hairs a similar length to Cheryl's in the picture so that's not an issue :) (though the god damm split ends that come with it are  )

By heated rollers do you mean the large version of this kind ? : http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/4439158/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CHealth+and+personal+care%7C14418350/c_2/3%7C19805475%7CHair+care%7C14418399/c_3/4%7Ccat_14418399%7CHair+rollers%7C23719068.htm

I've tried doing this with the wand but it hasn't worked :(
My hair (while I've a lot of it) isn't that thick though so maybe thats the issue :(
