    Howard's a superb keeper.

    Howard playing brilliantly as usual.
Giroud looks like he as superglue on the bottom of his boots.

Much better from arsenal the last few minutes. Would have been unreal if Ramsey scored that

Yup, just moved up a gear as Everton tired. I've seen enough to think we will win

Terrific game so far. Two teams playing great stuff. Brilliant work from Howard and Coleman in those last five minutes!

    Fairly enjoyable game so far.

As an Irish fan i'm buzzing watching Colemans performance today.

He's the first genuine top class fullback since Irwin.

    Absolute gem of a player.

The 2nd half is gonna be outstanding with Everton to run out of steam late on for a narrow defeat.

As good of a goalless half as you're likely to see, there.

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

Some superb football from Everton but Arsenal have defended very well. The last five minutes of the half gives me optimism for the second half though, maintain that intensity and we should win the game.

Koscienly's been brilliant, Everton had most of the ball but Arsenal had both of the chances. Howard Webb has definitely bet the unders on yellow cards

Thank god that half time came

It's silly how people actually think Koscielny tripping on Lukaku's legs was intentional by the Belgian. I agree that Barry deserves a card. But no way should he have been shown one for an Ozil dive.

    Good game.
Arsenal just starting to get on top.
Still going for a 2 nil to the Gunners.

I think its called persistant fouling.

Some stats there! Double passes, higher pass accuracy, double touches

I have a serious man crush on bobby Martinez :D

best first half of footy I have seen in ages.Hopefully it doesnt let up in the 2nd half...Seamus Coleman is playing his socks off from an Irish perspective and McCarthy has not put a foot wrong so far too...

Kos and Mert are a top quality cb pairing

Everton playing some real good stuff. Arsenal there for the taking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

If Arsenal had Suarez or even Cavani the league would be in the bag, without a doubt.

I wonder if Wenger will buy a striker in January

Barkley is something else, can we trade Fellaini for him??

Everton on top so far but I think Arsenal will have a big second half.

Arsenal fans have had that for years and it's gotten us no where. Much prefer less possession, less passes and more goals. Which arsenal have been doing this year in certain games

Everton playing very well and dominating possession. We've been slow to get going yet have the only 2 shots on target. Let's hope we can dominate now in the 2nd half.

We(Everton) had usually less passing less possession and less goals :p

Hoping those last 5 mins are a precurser for the 2nd half they started to wobble a bit with all that pressure ..Other than that everton have looked tough

Yeah but we've had mr negativity for years

The Pienaar & Oviedo combination on the left has been hugely influential, while Cazorla/Wilshere and Jenkinson have offered little threat at the other end. I think Walcott on would be a good idea.

Martinez is a brilliant coach and tactician and a gentleman to boot. He has made a serious outfit out of Everton. Playing lovely positive stuff thus far.
I'm not so sure if we on the other hand can afford the passengers we have on the team today akin to the United game.
Caz, Ozil, Ramsey not at the races. Jack is doing his best but him and Arteta are on their own. We need Theo and Flamster on to inject tenacity and pace into our game

    Good times for Everton fans

Ozil made a fool of big Distin there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,500 ✭✭✭✭cson

Didn't really consider them until today but Everton are real contenders for top 4 this season. Spurs and United are gonna have it up them to collar both Merseyside teams.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,500 ✭✭✭✭cson

    What a chance.

I don't think it's unfair to say that despite how well Everton have played, we'd be value for a lead right now.

Arsenal fullbacks doing what Everton did in first half and pegging them right back

on the second half performance so far, yes.

On the balance of the whole game, no

Nearly a superb goal by Everton, slick passing. Goal imminent.

That was a lovely move by Everton tbf

Don't expect them to hold out though, Arsenal to win 1-0

Starting to feel like a lot of last season, just missing the change of pace to get through Everton's defence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,191 ✭✭✭✭Shanotheslayer

Del boy must come on soon for his pace. Take off Miralles or Pienaar

Massive fan of McCarthy but he also annoys me.

Bags and bags of potential and could be a really top player but he just seems to timid or that he's not that bothered. I'd love for him to start getting on the ball and dictating the play for Everton and control the tempo of the game.
