PIR Mounting Position?

Can a ceiling mounted PIR be position on a wall instead? This is to detect people walking down the stairs so it would be positioned facing them if that makes sense?

Here is the PIR type in question. It will be switching a couple of 2D fittings if that makes a difference.

Im unsure how effective they would be at low level.
A lot of occupancy sensors come with parts that allow you to deflect or angle the range of the unit.
BEG luxomat do a wall mounted sensor that fits on a single plate, and usually is fitted in place of the switch.

Yes that looks perfect. Should these be readily available in a wholesalers? Kind of need one in the next few days.

It may not be readily available in the smaller wholesalers bit one of them will have one. Might be best to ring around first.
