Can the book be beaten ...long term?

Just because he has a thread about it does mean he is the only one to have proven it. There are several on here who are winning punters, neither them nor I need a thread to justify that to themselves or anyone else.

I stand by the fact that the people who follow here are not causing the price to drop, for several reasons, first, not everyone is getting on within a half an hour. It's just not logical. Secondly, I would imagine people are playing at 10 quid a point mainly. Nothing wrong with that, but a market it does not make. Thirdly, if the boards crew were causing the prices to collapse, every single horse would shorten. They haven't. Lastly, everyone who was following his bets, it seems, is signing up for the pm, so you are having the exact same number of people backing the horse, thus, by your logic, the price will still collapse, no?

I do think this thread has some great features, the main one being it may get some people out of bad habits in gambling. It seems people are disciplined and just backing these selections. Compulsion is the biggest downfall of a gambler. Another good habit is taking best price overnight, shop around, don't bet with Boyles because that's who you bet with, yet they're 2 points shorter than lads. Hopefully aside from just following these bets, people are taking on some good habits, which will hopefully lead to a more clued in set of bettors.

So you're comparing him to price wise? How many people do you think follow tom segal? A damn site more than 100. Please don't patronise me by insinuating I don't know how bookmakers work. I do. Generally a price will drift on track as on course bookmakers haven't laid a bean, if it's all been swallowed up overnight. 80-100 10 to 50 quid punters are not causing these gambles. You're completely ignoring my point that if that was the case, every selection of his would shorten within 30 minutes of being priced up.

Has every selection shortened within a half an hour of these being priced up? Seeing as there are 70-100 people from here getting on early doors? The answer is no.

Never said I was, del, but your logic is completely flawed, and as I said, if you think tops 100 people getting on with tenners and twenties is in any way akin to the cut in price someone like Tom Segal affects, you are mad.

Just answer me that one question, why hasn't every pick shortened significantly, if the fact of the matter is that boards is causing the gambles?

Also, it doesn't matter if 80% or the bets don't win. If you're backing 10/1 shots then you only need 2 out of 10 to win to be profitable.

Del, was only trying to point out that it wasn't anything the boards punters were up to that contracted the price. It was punted from 10's to 5's last night and it continued contracting this morning.

If anyone is thinking of backing it but think it's a bit short you could maybe back it in running on Betfair. The horses running style is that it starts slowly and finishes with a rattle so could well be a good bit bigger price in running.

Its not owners bookmakers are afraid of, I will tell you that for a fact. Most owners havent a notion, and would be long term losers. But yes, I am aware of that fact, what is your point? You still havent answered my question, and I am not sure of the relevance.
