As a Monday night ticket holder living within 6/7mins walk of the Aviva, I would HUGELY welcome this happening.

Better venue for music IMO and means no trek over to the Northside

    Fingers are crossed! ;)

Moving the 2 nights to 3 dates in the aviva would be a logicistical nightmare for accommodation, extra costs for security, emergency services not to mention getting Garth Brooks to play the extra concert.

Touts will be absolutely loving this. Expect to see tickets on ebay for ten times their face value for the weekend in the next few hours.

Well, they'd have to reapply for a license and of course it's gotta be 10 weeks beforehand. so theres that as well.

There's still some tickets left on ticketmaster for the Sunday, just got 2 there as I have 2 tickets for the Tuesday. Figured I'd get the Sunday ones just in case!

A = (Ticket Master) Sells B= ( Customer 1 ) tickets for Monday or Tuesday.

    B = ( Customer 1 ) sells the tickets on to C = ( Customer 2 )

B gets there money back for sale of Ticket from C

    Concert Cancelled

A refunds B price of Tickets to Credit Card = 100% Profit

    C gets fucked

    This should be interesting

It happens regularly in most major cities of the world

Maybe in an indoor venue but not in a stadium that holds 80k .

Plus the touts who sold Monday and Tuesday tickets will get their ticketmaster refund and keep the money they made from sold tickets.

Edit: Mr_Red just beat me to it :D

Well with so many unemployed in this country I'd say it is, anything that does international PR damage to this country is a bad thing especially whiney old townies being responsible for it.

I'm sorry that some boggers that have a problem with people from Dublin.

    Is this in the Aviva?

You would have to have three nights for two cancelled nights.

So if you have tickets for monday and tuesday, you go all three nights. That can work. ... ;-)

It wont happen. There's no licence applied for the aviva.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,304 ✭✭✭PropJoe10

Its too late for a license application for those dates for the Aviva. Thats a complete non starter.

First time an event licence has been refused, according to the chap just on with Ray D'Arcy there now.

I guess it would make sense to have a licence granted before tickets went on sale.
I wonder what's the process in other countries?

I am from Greece and as far as I know, the license comes first and then the promoter starts selling the tickets.
But I will admit that we don't have any big venues that close to a residential area or venues that would have restrictions on how many concerts they can have in a year.
It's generally either fully licensed or not.

But I would agree that selling tickets first and then get the license granted doesn't make much sense. It should be the other way around.
This one looked like an accident waiting to happen.
Very difficult to move elsewhere, unless the 2 nights become 4 or 5.
