I couldn't stay away despite the bug that bit me....
Don't think I'll continue playing for too long though.

I've established a small base for myself with good resources around it.
Going to build up a good stockpile to create some ammo and then go exploring around the island.

After I've done some good exploring, I'll probably leave it until they've made a few more updates.

So i bought this yesterday and have after having lost my character during the night I've had to rebuild what little I had.

Now have a basic house with basics on the inside and a few blueprints to go make some weaponry. Next step weapons and building a better house once I find the blueprints to make one

Yes. Normal zombies are a 1-hit kill with a bow so kits are easy enough to find if you farm them though the threat as ever will come from other players. Have a workbench handy so you can use the kit there and then rather than having to transport it back to your base.

No, I don't think so though maybe a server admin could do so.

edit : some servers have extra features which allow you to do things such as see who is online with the /who command.

Last logged in a few days ago.
Had a load of gear on me and died while trying to find research kits, haven't logged back in since.

It's a decent game overall, but I think it does need some more content.

Take away agressive PVP players and there's not much challenge to it....

It's a community based game so PVP is very much part of the game, I think it has developed quite well on the server I use which has the oxide mod and no decay.

We have built a decent place on top of rock and defending it while getting weapons etc makes pretty decent enough gameplay and it develops as communities interact e.g. we have formed an understanding with our biggest neighbour, they don't shoot us and we don't shoot them

I should also say to Mr Blobby that last night there were over 20,000 people online so the game is doing something right. I'm worried though that too many people have bought into the alpha and the game doesn't advance quickly enough to keep those people playing through the alpha, beta, etc...

At the moment it's pretty easy for 4/5 people playing together to get to the current 'end-game' of owning everything (and everyone!)

There are though a lot of modded servers which change the rules to keep it more interesting such as ones which doesn't allow you to craft military grade weapons, instead forcing you to the supply drops to find them.

The server we were playing on where we built a great big fortress in the cliffs and generally had a good time has had a mass exodus, nobody playing on it in the past few days.

Ho hum, have to emigrate and start again. Though it was inevitable with a server wipe come the next update.

Still, it's an enjoyable game when you land on the right server and meet a healthy mix of friendlies and assholes.

Something satisfying about finding where your killer lives and destroying / building over their home.

I think it's definitely a game I'll get back in to once there's a bit more of it released.
Maybe once it's in Beta...

I think the main issue I had was that I was on servers with very light activity, so I had lots of time for resource collection and crafting/building without being attacked.

New irish server up.

50 slots. active admins that don't seem to abuse power. Running Oxide with airdrops and reduced crafting speeds. Had some fun on it so far with a max of perhaps 10 people on it at once.
