Acer Touchpad problem

Since updating to win 8.1,when I hover my mouse over a link,the link is selected and off I go to a new page!This is without clicking on the link.If I use a usb mouse,this doesn't happen. Is this a nice simple fix?? I believe the pad is an Elan touchpad

It's probably an option in the touchpad settings.
