Nearly blown off the platform at Leixlip Louisa Bridge train station. Very very strong gusts accomponied by horizontal torrential rain. Nasty!

You can see where the swathe of high winds is just approaching southwest Galway, it is within that area where the wind is at its strongest.

I have outlined it in red box.

Is this still heading for Northwest Donegal? I have a class tonight at 7pm and don't know if I should cancel or not

Yes, northwest Donegal is at risk of sustained violent storm force winds gusting Hurricane force, but i cannot advise your choices.

Massive gusts hitting Dublin 8 now. Wowww!

I am in the top floor/third floor building in D8 and the gusts were noises I hadn't heard before...

id imagine the worst of it is now over for the southern half of the country, the next few hours could be very interesting up in the northwest as the storm force winds push in, I was surprised just how squally and heavy the cold front was as it past down here.

Can't understand why some people on here where wishing for high winds and looking forward gleefully to a big storm.
