1500 households with out power in the westport area, seems to have calmed down a bit in claremorris.

I'm in Fahy. We still have power

In Bonniconlon. My dish has just been blown and is facing the wrong way and there are awful creaking noises from the trees at the back, and worse, power is flickering.... strongest winds this year for me.

    TT

The water level stopped rising at 6pm & that carpark regularly floods. Bonkers to park there given the forecast

What a suprise. They must have the worst safety record in Europe.

Not really relevant to this thread but nearly all Air France flights from Dublin are operated by Cityjet who have a perfectly good safety record. ;)

There was a good bit of rain and wind here in wexford but its all gone very calm now the last while, wrong side of the country for anything too dramatic though.

I see the latest reports from met.ie at 18:00 have MACE HEAD GALWAY(A) W 58 Gust 78

Starting to hear the gusts again on the house after a lull after that squall passed through.
Local Reports Ballymore Eustace was hit hard by the winds, lots of trees down there and damage to peoples fences and outbuildings

Burnfoot, Donegal (bottom of Inishowen) fairly calm here now after a bit rain and earlier this afternoon. Just in from looking at a starry sky and a big moon

I assume this is the clichéd calm before the storm? Thanks for the updates, can any Donegal folks keep them coming. Very helpful.

The Guinness world record attempt for the largest choir singing carols rehearsal had to be cancelled due to weather conditions at Croke park this evening - unfortunately!!!

If anyone fancies going it's to raise money for charity........the big event is on tomorrow night.

Indeed, a head injury from any debris/blown objects is the biggest risk in these conditions. Not good.

Bummer. Hope the damage is not too bad, and you can afford the repairs. Bills coming up to Christmas and all that.
