Strange difference between Mace & Belmullet. Thought it would be the other way around!

    BELMULLET(A) W 31 Gust 55

    MACE HEAD GALWAY(A) W 46 Gust 63

I'm nearly sure I saw 7pm update for Belmullet with a gust of 72 and Rosses point was 70.

The sky just lit up and a big roll of thunder. Now rain starting as I type. Wind has died down considerably in last half hour.

    Kinlough, Co. Leitrim

Well I'm looking at it from Bunduff and tis closer to you than me I'd say.
Heavy shower of rain just passed.

if the wind is directly south to north, mace head has zero shelter whilst belmullet has a little bit.. would that account for it , or would that mean that theres more to come..

Anything to do with the station in belmullet being in a sheltered spot? Drove by it earlier and it was the calmest bit of my journey

Bloody hell a huge rumble of thunder just scared the life out of me there and now hailstones belting off the window in county Limerick.

Winds have decreased in finner and belmullet 10pm reports. Like a normal windy night here apart from two windy intervals which lasted about 1-2 minutes. All in all slightly disappointed was expecting more. (Donegal)

But is it cold enough for snow - dew points etc. or does that all go out the window in storm situation/time of year etc?

Most of snow will be above 300m but around 730 to 930 a risk at lower levels though prob more sleety

Trees are our biggest killer and *possibly* property damage too. Trees should be no more [nearer] than their felling distance from a dwelling or a road.

That means, either the house, road or tree moves as the tree grows. I love trees, but we need to grow them properly.

I hate living or driving in fear of trees, good luck.

Ah the perils of living in the countryside... and also the joy,.. thankfully I have significantly more joyful days admiring the trees out around Dromahair, than the odd occasion driving and praying they don't fall. :)

haha, I'd say 60mp/h was the highest here and that's pushing it. Severe along coastal areas but as I said just like a normal windy night here
