Starting to ramp up now in Athlone

I'll climb the reek with you if you're up for it. I can be there in 90 mins.

And hang glide down around 6am if it's as bad as predicted by then........

EDIT: wind gusts would be easily 100+ mph up at the top I'd say.:D.

What's the general consensus on Friday/Saturdays system? something similar, 60-80 kph sustained winds, gusts 100-120 kph?

You'll be grand, it will have eased off by then. Just keep both hands on the steering wheel. Safe trip.

Barometer bottomed out at 960.7. Now rising. And the wind rising accordingly. But nothing out of the ordinary so far.

Met Eireann chart for midnight shows the secondary low that will bring the strongest winds only starting to appear. So it will be hours after midnight before that even reaches the west coast let alone inland areas.

(This image will update to show 1am etc.)

I just watched a planes wing do nothing for 92 seconds :)

Shows how boring the weather has been in Dublin.

Extremely calm here in Greystones atm.

I really hate asking the question of what's it going to be like in my area but I've a really ill cat that has to travel to the vets tomorrow. He's a rescued feral who cannot stand the car at the best of times & is terrified or wind or any loud noises so need to plan the timing.
    East coast tomorrow?

Getting fairly lively and gusty in West Limerick. Hope the roof tiles stay where they're at! Just off to the leaba - but would I be better off sitting here counting the Rosary beads?

If anything, it sounds like the wind has eased off here in West Connemara in the last while.

Any strong winds should ease off in the early afternoon.

It is getting wild out there but I have a roaring fire and plenty of xmas drink in so everything is ok:D...On a serious note though lets just hope this passes without to much disruption.

I have no idea, to me the plane drops many feet in a spit second, up and down.
But like I said I've never flown :)
