Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    fixed

can't help but scan the list to see which tunes are missing like instantly I see no Fandango & Hogan's Hendrix theme arent there but as you said, limited number etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,753 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

well I shall bump a lesser theme for a theme that is obviously awesome and should be on the list, like Christian has 2 themes on the list so I may bump on of his off for fandango or one of kanes themes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,753 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

And im a fan of fandangos theme myself, cant believe I left that off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,753 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

    Edited - Fandango added

Hardcore holly - howd you you like me now bumped off as I felt it wasn't as memorable

This is going to be great. I can think of about 20 that could win it.

128 is great round number but I'd advice you to do two matches at a time for the first round or you'll be doing this till March.

That's what ill be doing for the first round. I personally love a lot of them, and some will get far on hilariousness in retrospect, ie Sexual Chocolate/ Steven Regals Mans man

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,491 ✭✭✭thebostoncrab

If Real Mans Man doesn't make it to the semi finals I'll have lost all faith in mankind.

I mean, just listen to it!

OK Gonna start off with the first 2 matches first off, first round is first to 4 votes ....go! ill also throw in some made up facts about each song

also any obvious missed themes will be added during the first round if available

Rob Van Dam - One of a kind
It reached number 420 in the USbillboard charts

    vs

    Vader - Mastadon
Leon White was once beaten with an actual mastodon tusk during a back stage fight with Kevin Sullivan

    and

    Marc Mero - Marvellous
Mero gave away his original theme music to his then wife sable in exchange for not doing the dishes

    vs

    Big Bossman - Hard Times
The Bossman used to pretend to sing the theme tune with his nightstick

    RVD and Big Boss Man.

Vader and Boss Man(btw his 1998- them was much better)

    RVD and Big Boss Man.

Is it just me or is that Big Boss Man theme inferior to the "Cell Block" theme that he used in his second run. Still better than the Mark Mero theme. (Didn't Mero start using Sable's theme because she was more over than him?)

Maybe so, I just thought id throw a few old school themes in and thought his theme in 99 was a bit generic

Iirc, Mero used the wildcat theme during his Wildman gimmick first before sable

Ah cool. Didn't know that. You definitely have to mix it up a little (don't take my above comments as me moaning.)

    RVD and Boss Man

beaker, you forgot about the Shield!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

    Vader and Boss Man.

Vader's was one of my favourites.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

    Vader and BossMan.

The first few notes of Vaders were just immense. Like it was a wind tunnel in the Vader Rockies!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,448 ✭✭✭Garseys

I have to go with Vader and Bossman. (I really like One of a Kind though!)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 767 ✭✭✭SimonQuinlank

Vader and Boss Man,preferred RVD's original WWF theme.

No Four Horseman or Wolfpac themes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,753 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

So Mr Monday night upset in my eyes as the rocky mountain mastodon marches on and Bossman does no hard time as he easily heads on to the next phase as well at the expense of the Wildman, next 2 matches up .....
The Wyatt Family -Broken out of Love

No beards will be shaved til it reached number 1 on the iTunes chart

    vs

Owen Hart - Enough is enough
The band who recorded the song were actually called the Nuggets

    and

Edge - You think you know me 2000
contrary to popular belief, a lot of people actually know who Edge is

    vs

    Sid Vicious - Snapped
Sid once snapped his leg... these are facts

I went with WWE themes, to be honest I never watched that much Nitro, only used WWE versions of GOLDBERG and NWO since they were in WWF.

Loved the wolfpac theme myself , but the more I heard it the more I disliked it

    Edge and Wyatts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

Owen and Sid. Sid's was so intimidating as a kid.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 767 ✭✭✭SimonQuinlank

    Wyatt's and Sid.

Theme is one of the few things I like about the Wyatt's,and Sid's is pure intimidation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

Same as Simon here. Wyatts is so creepy that it hammers home exactly what they're meant to be. Ditto for Sid. Love the initial screech.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,520 ✭✭✭Hashtag_HEEL

Wyatt's and edge. Two of the few theme songs on my iPod!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,804 ✭✭✭A Brad Maddox Guy

Wyatts and Edge. Always made that Edge theme my created wrestler's music on the Smackdown games as a kid

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,753 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

So The Wyatts break Owens heart and The former Sexton Hardcastle edges out The self proclaimed ruler of the world (really?), next up we have a a few oldies

Bret The Hitman Hart - Hart Attack
Bret gave this theme a 8 out of 10 and not his regular 4

    vs

    The Rockers - Lets Rock

The rockers were actually into techno dance music and not rock

    and

Chris Jericho - Break The Walls down
Jericho actually build walls for orphanages in his spare time rather than break them down

    vs

    Diesel - Diesel Power
The same guy who wrote this song was responsible for the opening theme to Roseanne

    Bret and Jericho

Bert and Chris. That open riff and slow build are some of the best ever.

The Canadian Duo of Bret and Y2J roll on, as Big Daddy Cool and The Rockers leave the game

Next up and last matches of the night and some potential big guns against each other

CM Punk - This Fire Burns
The CM in CM Punk stands for Country Music

    vs

Degeneration X - Break it down
Rage against the Machine are a cover band of The Dx Band

    AND

    Zack Ryder - Radio
Zack Ryder was once considered to win the Royal Rumble but then the X-Box shut down

    vs

    Randy Orton - Voices
Randy Orton still hears voices.... they feed him his lines during promos

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 871 ✭✭✭gerTheGreat

    DX and Randy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

Two great themes and two awful themes.

Guess I'll go with Punk and Orton but I dont mind who goes through but for completely opposite reasons.

Poor Zack Ryder, Randy destroyed him in this round

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,753 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

Dx just about (straight) edge CM Punk out and Randy squashes Zack, much like what would happen in real life, next up..... 2 legends square off and 2 members of the Kliq go head to head
The Undertaker - Your gonna pay
No one has ever under taken the Mark Calloway on the highway

    vs

    Eddie Guerrero - Latino Heat
Triple H actually partnered Eddie up with Chyna as punishment, hence the latino heat name

    and

    123 Kid - 1...2....3
Sean Waltman couldnt say teh 1...2...3 during the theme song as his voice had not broken yet

    vs

    Triple H - My time
All lyrics were written my Hunter himself
