    They're not really walking boots. In countries with much colder and snowier winters than us, people wear these kinds of boots as normal winter footwear, walking to work, school or whatever.

    I wouldn't go for them, OP.

    There are snow boots for when it gets very cold, which are probably bigger, tougher, warmer and more waterproof than winter boots. But it doesn't seem as though we are looking at a very harsh winter in Ireland this year, so far.

    My guess is that you possibly won't need them this year.
