I'd go for the Asus myself.

It's got a good Processor and 6GB of RAM, so it's in no danger of being outdated anytime soon.

As well as that, I personally find Asus to be a very reliable brand.

Yes it has got a very good spec in fairness.

I have never owned an ASUS PC so glad to hear they are reliable

Would love to hear some more opinions too please.

I'd go for the ASUS but with Dell you could probably build a better one online with customization.

You could do everything you say you want to do on a Raspberry-Pi.

The processor is already outdated :)

The problem with buying from the likes of pcworld is that for reasonable prices, you typically get obsolete stock (like a 3rd gen i3/i5/i7 cpu)

For your needs, a basic Dell with a 4th gen i5 is more than adequate, there is absolutely no need for an i7 cpu. You should be able to get one for about 400-500 incl shipping and VAT
