The whole free shipping seems nice, but I don't think it's available in Ireland? If you use parcel motel, how long does it usually take Nightline to deliver it to your actual local pickup?

Anytime I have used them the item would be in a motel the same day they receive it. Lately it's been getting later, the first few times the item would be in the motel by about 8 or 9PM the last one was 1AM but it's always been ready for me to collect 24 hours after arriving at their depot in the north.

I'd have thought the 3.50 a delivery would add up though.

    In my experience,
If I order say Wednesday, it gets delivered to nightline on Thursday and i can pickup from the parcel motel locker on Friday,

If I wanted to keep this service it would be £50 a year for Prime (after the trial) and 3.50e a delivery to Parcel Motel, its far cheaper then the two day delivery service to Ireland that Amazon offer which starts at £12.99 per delivery.

So if you're ordering alot during the year and you need stuff fast it would be pretty cost affective compared to the other option available for Irish customers,

There's no other benefit to Prime than the fast and delivery for Ireland, right?

You can get Kindle book lending using it once a month, though not sure if this would work outside the UK

Not anymore unfortunately. It was great when ROI address were included, think it was guaranteed 3 days at the time.

Using it via PM could be handy for stuff needed quickly, but chances are that's not going to be that often. Then with amazon shipping so many items singly it will end up costing you heavily with PM fees

I am ordering one item from Amazon.co.uk shortly. I am based in Galway and have a Parcel Motel local. Would my quickest option be to sign up for Prime, get it delivered to the Northern PM address then pick it up in my Galway PM? That just costs €3.50 correct? And how long do people think it would take?

Just be sure the item is eligible for prime delivery and that you remember to cancel prime trial afterwards, :)

So just to clarify, is Amazon Prime and their 2 day delivery promise apply to addresses here in Republic of Ireland?

They have a £49 deal at the moment, Prime + Prime Instant Video for a year (previously Lovefilm).

    No
Its a one day delivery service only for the UK, the lovefilm service will only work via a UK ip address also.

They don't offer any prime service to the Republic of Ireland,

So why the heck don't they program the site to hide the huge banner inviting you to try it?

I had 2 separate orders put into one box by Amazon prime last week. Saved me 3.50 in the process.

First of all its a UK site (not Irish) and secondly maybe you should direct your question at Amazon as I dont believe they have any reps posting here on Boards

    It's an American site's UK outlet. ;)

Anyway, of course I know it's UK-focused, with international orders secondary. But they get enough Irish customers that it would be their time to at least program something that doesn't show the banner to IPs outside the UK. I'm just moaning. :P
