Can anyone recommend an email client other than outlook that supports exchange?

From bitter personal experience, I can say that this is a question that will make you hate Microsoft and/or your IT department.

You won't get full-exchange support in non-Outlook clients (at least not for free) - the most common solution for mail access is for the Exchange server to have IMAP enabled as well.

For calendar access the best solution I've found is to use Thunderbird (general release here or Extended Support Release here) combined with the Lightning addon and the Exchange 2007/2010 Calendar and Tasks Provider addon.

    More info here and here.

Apple mail supports exchange by setting up POP or IMAP protocol successfully.
