Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ode to a thieving scumbag.......

(Ode to the thieving Scumbags who broke into our house).

To the male with the red hoodie. Red is really your colour –it suits your dark hair and 5ft 9in slim build. You should wear it more often.
Sorry if the loud doorbell hurt your ears.
Ditto with the alarm.3 minutes of it blaring at you can't have been nice.

To the male with the grey hoodie- my, but what muscles you have.
The way you threw that heavy rock at our window?
    How strong you are!
Be careful though-smoking is bad for you, and might weaken you in the long term.
Plus, you really shouldn’t have thrown that fag butt on my lawn-someone might report you for littering.

To the other male with the grey hoodie-how agile and fit you are.
You must practise gymnastics-that leap from the second floor roof onto the ground? Olympic standard, young man-gold medal material.

Speaking of gold- I’d love to be there when you try to exchange the bling for cash.It was fake.
    Couldn't any of you tell?
    Really?

We didn’t get to see your pal with the car-we were told that he likes to drive fast? Please make sure he wears his seat belt-and slows down.
Speed kills, tell him that from us.He mightn't listen, but tell him regardless.

Good to see you all protecting your hands from this winterly weather by wearing gloves.
As for your faces- such handsome, young and –dare I say it-easily recognisable faces.

Anyway-you choose well by selecting our house to break into.
It looks great, doesn’t it? We’re very proud of it, my husband and I.
We went to school, got qualifications-we both work and always have done.
That’s why you found no money or jewellery by the way-our family, is our wealth.
We never keep cash at the house, how daft would that be?

I just realised-I should probably dedicate this ode to whoever invented CCTV instead of you four-that would make better sense, don’t you think?
Rename it-the "Ode to clever people who do clever things instead of stupid dopey people who are a waste of space"?

Have a great Christmas, wherever you are.
    I most certainly will.

Speaking as someone who had their home broken in to last year, you have my sympathy.

These scum are really the lowest of the low....

I would hope the state would stop their sponsorship of these pieces of shít...caught robbing - here's a 50% reduction in your dole for the next 2 months. Might make 1 or 2 of them think twice. Probably wouldn't as you need a brain to be able to think.

The gardai do the best they can and catch these guys. Then send them to the courts where they just given a slap on the hand and told not to be bold boys then they are sent out the door to do it all again.

    Sorry to hear that OP.

Got burgled myself a few times. First time was the best though. The dopes took some cheap costume jewellery, an alarm clock () but left the rent money I left in plain sight on top of the television.

    Not the brightest, burglers.

I was thinking the same, sorry for your trouble op, i wonder if a scumbook, like facebook for scum you might have an image of would be allowed, no doubt there is a law preventing it.

So your idea is for people who rob is to cut their source of income, so they won't rob again because the have less money?

They are robbing because they need money, mostly.

Cannot at this stage as it might interfere with Gardaí investigation.

Well then, give them food vouchers for the bare minimum. Fcuking fed up with these scumbags getting social houses, decent dole payment etc and when they end up in court - "free legal aid"...and then "ah, he never stood a chance but he's turning his life around now" - cue, a suspended sentence and they're back up in a week.

I was waiting for the part where they said the thieves got caught. But no, they didn't, unfortunately.

Water off a ducks back tbh, thieves won't care they didn't get anything. They'll just go to the next.

Yeah perhaps food vouchers might work but then will they not try sell that for drugs?

For a lot of them they are caught in a circle and have been trained to robbed from a young age. They will. Blame everyone else apart from themselves.
It's all their choice to rob.

I work near south hill and see this every day. Mothers who are more interested in buying fags and scratch cards rather than milk and bread as they don't have enough.

Caught a lad shoplifting, a asked me to let him of as he was only learning.

Had a grown. Man rob in front of his child and I called him out.

They don't care what they do and will walk over anybody to get a euro.

Once they put themselves in that position and get a sense of morality, then it will change.

They should be treated as the absolute scum that they are, upbringing or not. I said it in the thread about the Tipperary burglary a few weeks ago. There is no excuse to be a scumbag, plenty have come from rough areas/tough upbringings and bettered themselves and their communities.

To go into someone else's home, tie up a wife and 8 year old girl? Nope. No. Nah. You're scum and you deserve life in prison (the max term for aggravated burglary.) If they can't afford a solicitor, then they shouldn't be allowed defend themselves. None of this legal aid nonsense (funded by us normal, law-abiding, non-scum citizens might I add.)

You're gonna tell me now that they send the csi to ordinary burglaries right? And have a 99% clear-up rate? I wasn't knocking the gards anyway. It's a burglary, there's a limit to what they can do. Anyway, your DNA comment kinda shows a lack of day to day reality. Do you live in Ireland? DNA? For a minor burglary? hah.

Instead of sending out a csi team, maybe send out students to get some experience.
Would make for a great tv programme aswel. Six irish forensics students (3 male & 3 female) living in a house together, going out partying and solving crimes. And finding out who left the seaman stains on the sheets.

    CSI Tallaghtfornia.

    What goes around comes around.

Very true... It might take days/weeks or even years... chances are they will get caught doing something else. The only problem I have with that is, even if they are caught at a close by address, the guards can try and pin your burglary on them as-well, to which they won't care about, because we have a concurrent sentencing system:mad:

They'll never do time, even if caught red handed. Judge will look at their records, see 200 + convictions, scumbag will say he is on the scratcher or the disability, has a massive heroine habit but want's to get off it, has 20 kids and a sick ma etc. Will walk free. Ridiculous.

The OP is getting thanked for her post because she has treated the invasion of her home and property as an unfortunate blip in life that can't be helped. An invasion carried out by people who will always exist no matter how well the economy goes. There were no calls from the OP that the thieves should be thrown into jail for the rest of their lives/strung up/castrated etc, as she knows these are highly disproportionate responses to a break in where nothing was stolen, and thankfully no was injured.

So the next time something unfortunate happens to any of us, instead of taking it as a sign that everyone's against us, it might serve us well to think of this thread and be thankful for everything good that's happening in our lives.

Thank you again for the post OP, and Happy Christmas.

Sorry to hear about your break in OP. Been here twice myself.
I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope on the Gardai doing much about it tho, because the last time I got broken in to, all they did was post me out the address of a local place that provides counselling services. Not really what I had in mind to be honest.
I'd have preferred to see the scum having their hands amputated.

I'll be honest with you Banana, it's not about possessions being taken, it's the invasion of ones privacy.
    That outweighs the material stuff.

    Absolutely.

This is our second breakin in a decade.
We live in rural Ireland, all of our neighbours have been hit twice in recent years-despite having alarms.
We are luckiest,as nothing taken on both occasions.

I didn't start the thread looking for thanks.
    I'm not that shallow.

I was/am pi$$ed off to think that someone has such little regard for others and their property.
And somehow,it's tolerated by letting these ....creatures,if caught, get away with it.

Look at crimewatch, people caught clearly on CCTV yet they still have to broadcast on national TV to try and catch them.

On the subject of break-ins, wouldn't it be great if we saw a few random burglars killed or at least seriously wounded to the point of not being able to do it again in quick succession over Christmas?

No doubt we'll be hearing more stories of people being robbed and beaten up in their own homes, usually the elderly, as seems to be the norm at this time of year.

Wouldn't it be nice for this Christmas instead hearing that quite a few scumbags got battered into oblivion or shot dead? I'm sure there'd be millions sleeping more soundly at the news of a few scobies getting their comeuppance.

PS- I wonder will there ever be a situation whereby by known burglars are targeted so that they're watched and when they go out of their own dwelling, they get robbed themselves, and the taking given to charities. Vigilante burglaries if you will, robbing from the scumbags to give to the poor?
