iPad 3 or Mini?

Looking for some advice.
I was going to get myself an iPad Mini Retina tomorrow but I've just been told that I can get an iPad 3 (the first retina ipad that was only in production for a few months) for the same price. And its still factory sealed brand new.

So I'm wondering which is the best option.... I'm drawn to the 3 because of the larger screen. I think that difference outweighs the slightly faster processor in the new Mini for me.

Any advice? Is there something I'm blatently overlooking?

Retina mini. Same internals as the Air, just a smaller screen. IPad 3 was thicker, heavier, drained the battery faster and was slower to recharge, hence it only lasted a few months, before being replaced by iPad 4.

For what it's worth, I own an iPad 3 but have used someone else's iPad Mini a bit recently. Hopefully I won't need to replace my iPad any time soon but when the time comes I'd seriously think about getting a Mini instead. While I love my iPad 3 in many ways, the weight and the bulkiness of it do grate after a while. While I'd have thought that a smaller iPad was a step down from what I have, using one for a while has changed my mind. I'm not so convinced now that I'd need such a large screen again - the one on the iPad Mini is plenty big for most things. Even art which I dabble in.

Out of the two options, the mini retina would be the best choice.

400 for a 3 is not a good deal.

If you want more screen space pay the 90 extra for an Air.

Depends what your want to use it for, and how much you'll be carrying it around.

If you want it for watching video/TV on at home on the couch, I'd go bigger screen. Otherwise, probably the mini.
