Liverpool will never win the league with pity passing like that,

    Lacking that killer touch.

Missed the game today I see.

Haha Suarez thought he was Man of the Match!

Silly system getting one player to give it to the other.

You must have a real hatred of Suarez , He gets a kick in the chest and you want to discuss wether it's a red card . If a Liverpool player or anyone made that challenge they have to walk .

Studs high to his chest...as blatant as they come. You must be blind if you cannot see that - or shít stirring....anyway...Pool won 5 nil - happy days indeed.

Guess it's just me so, didn't think it affected the result or anything and Liverpool still would have won.

However think it was just a slightly late mistimed attempted to win a high ball. Never left the ground and barely touched him etc

Suarez keeps this up the title isn't out of the question for Liverpool.

The game against City is massive.

Of course it was, high foot, stood showing, and moved to take the player out after the ball was missed. Red all day long.

Spurs fan here but being unbiased as possible its a yellow card offence..no malice in it just Suarez being cute and screaming the stadium down and adding extra rolls to to get Paulinho sent off...

Liverpool would have won either way..it wasnt game changer as he was playing muck anyway .may have kept the score down slightly fwiw.

well done to BR & his awesome pass & move team... I wish we had gotten him in 2012 instead of fooking slow predictable over defensively AVB

Misstimed so much that the ball is out of shot and it was not a barely touch. Have you ever got hit with studs. They hurt

Man U fan here. Definitely a red. Memories of De Jong in the world cup.
Some performance by the Pool. Nice to see the young lads getting on the score sheet. Spurs defence was non existant.

You put your studs into someone's chest, it's a red card.

    Why are people arguing this?

It's as clear a red as you'll ever see.

Unfortunately he didn't and he got the red. Maybe it was a wee bit harsh but it was still a red.

I have supported him long enough but his time has come...so far out of his depth in the premiership:o

couldn't be further from a similar incident. Although the first replay I seen was the super slow mo, just saw the real time on Sky Sports and can see why it was given.

to be honest I was very worried when he became spurs manager but he's not really cutting the mustard.

Clear as day red card. He even left the boot in a bit at the end.

It's a red card. You can't compare it to Nani's either coz Nani was going to control the ball. Paulinho wasn't going to do so.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,369 ✭✭✭the incredible pudding

Showing your studs at that height is asking for trouble. I don't think he meant malice but it was reckless and hardly the most contentious red card you'll see.

+1 he actually angles his foot to make contact and his first reaction afterwards is to look to the ref with his hands up

    Red for sure

I don't even know why you are so convinced it wasn't a red . Studs to the chest he could of pulled but he didn't he has to walk it's a reckless challenge on Suarez .

THATS IT. Im phoning the Jelly School right now.

could have been a yellow, could have been a red. it was up to the ref, he chose red. now relax your pantaloons

Very similar to Nanis, high leg studs raked across players upper body. Straight red. Case closed

They've a good squad, shouldn't be any problems finding a decent manager.

Serves them right for overlooking Benitez.

He moved his foot at chest height towards Suarez. It's a definite red.

Studs up, in the chest, moved his foot into the chest.

It is clear serious foul play, obviously. agenda driven to dispute that. It is harsh, buts its a red.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Home & Garden Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 22,408 CMod ✭✭✭✭Pawwed Rig

All the talk of the red but that wasn't the story of the game. Spurs never looked like scoring despite their slight increase in possession in the first 20 mins of the second half. Liverpool would have won regardless of the red.
