Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I heard it was as little as 500k, a steal if true.

Everton seem to do very well in the transfer market.

Coleman only cost them 50,000 sure, and I think Gibson was in the region of 200k If I recall.

Coleman was £150,000 and Gibson was £2m.

But, your point still stands, they do good business.

Chelsea reportedly paying £20m for Matic, a player they owned up until two years ago.

Definitely nothing dodgy about that

Pretty sure he cost Everton £60000. Maybe it has risen to £150000 over the years with add ons etc but Sligo were only given £60000 at the time.

For a club financed by a guy that accumulated his wealth with all the panache of the Huns as they rampaged through Europe, I don't think that will bother them

    Whats dodgy about it ?

He went in the deal for Luiz as part exchange ( Valued at 5.5M at the time)

Supposedly Jose wants him back and he was let go when he wasn't there , dont see any reason for the tin foil hat ?

He'd want to fair better than Javi Garcia to justify that pricetag.

it seems Kevin de Bruyne has signed for Wolfsburg for £16m on a 5-year deal.

Matic back to Chelsea may well be next.

Ignacio Scocco likely to join Sunderland, according to his father. Sunderland tried hard to get him during the summer but for whatever reason couldn't get it done.

Anyone kept an eye on him at Internacional?

He was the standout player in the Argentine league when he was here, excellent finisher and very skilful, not overly physical though which might be a concern. Not sure what happened at internacional that they are keen to let him go, he has been a journeyman. My main concern is that he might be a bit of a homebird, he was average in Greece, OK in the Emirates and then really excellent for Newell's last year.

I wouldn't fancy taking him, too far out of his comfort zone, doesn't always travel well. Definite journeyman.

Is he an upgrade on Borini? Probably not I'd say, a risk, but if it paid off it would great, loved watching him at Newells.

I'd rather sign him as a player than Essien, at least he had a good game the last 5 years. :D

Napoli linked with Jorginho, if that goes through for €10m it'll be an absolute steal.

Can't even score for Wigan in the Championship, I doubt he's going to do very much.

some noises coming out of Schalke about Draxler
    Sporting director:
We hope he stays, but we can't influence

cracking player and if rumours are to be believed then Arsenal are front runners to land him.

Kozak was back up for Benteke and he's broken his leg. Holt will be his replacement.
Very uninspiring signing but a loan was the only option, and I'd imagine PL couldn't get anyone else.

Interesting one is Holtby to Schalke to enable Draxler to Arsenal.

Just like Bale to Madrid enabled Ozil to Arsenal:D.

Villa seem chuffed with the signing, they've already named a stand after him.

Shane Long gone to Hull in a deal that could rise to 7 million.

    http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25757771

In the Beeb article it says West Brom offered him a new contract with a pay rise but he rejected it. He must be on about 50k a week maybe more with this move to Hull.

Holt should be a good signing for Villa, provides experience and a leadership voice to the young Villa squad.

Based on this season alone, which clubs with be both happiest and unhappiest if the January Transfer window didnt occur?

    Happiest
I reckon Man City....... Very little weaknesses and big squad depth. Arsenal or Chelsea buying a top class Centre Forward is probably the biggest risk to them winning the title.

    Unhappiest
Man Utd maybe? Squad needs a lift and signing a player or two might be what will kick them on for a better second half to season.
Fulham to me would be be another.... They need signings to stay up I reckon.

Rene Meulenstein is an absolute spoofer. He should stick to what he is good at, and that's coaching developing players. He has no business being a manager at the highest level and will absolutely relegate Fulham.

    That is all.
