I live in one of the buildings just behind the Aquarium, very near Toft Park.

My street (Quincentennial Drive) is completely flooded, I can't go anywhere unless I want to step knee deep in water.

    Any excuse for skinnydipping

Careful with letting the dogs out to go the toilet. My dog is terrified and ran off to hide. Had to carry a 25kg dog home because she wouldn't walk herself.

Well it's a bit cold for that, unfortunately! :pac:

People are standing in front of my building taking photos, but it's kinda dark to be able to take good pics I would have thought. Like that pic of Toft park earlier.

^^ Yup that's the Toft Park car park. The Aquarium is just across the street, to the right.

just been for a lovely prom walk but I'd say it was fairly hairy at high tide, there're rocks of approx. a foot length lying on the Prom and on the road opposite Salthill Hotel and the cobble beach there has totally changed shape... both Rockbarton roads are flooded and a few cars up to their axles in the carpark opposite the Burren Mount... next high tide at 6am...

Gotta wonder why people park there. This storm front was forecaste a few days ago and everyone knows the tides. Car park should have been closed off yesterday altogether.

My dealings with the general public have led me to believe that most lack substantial brain matter.

    That is scary.

How would they clear that lake from salthill?

Leave it there: Leisureland is making a loss, it can be a free public swimming pool instead.

(The drains that were overwhelmed will start to kick in once the tide goes down again. And they might have to pump a bit out if some outlets have become blocked. I suspect this is something the council workers have expereince with!)

the general public don't get a boner reading weather charts would be my guess:pac:

It would have been ironic (if that's the correct word) if last night happened next Sunday when THE WATERBOYS are playing Leisureland.

Not sure if pic taken with phone will work, but the lad at the front of the cabin stayed there during the whole thing in case it got worse.

That picture was used by Sky News this morning for their coverage of the storm.
Fair play to him for getting it.
