Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That would have helped us last year. :(

Its a competition brimming with potential but hasn't taken off. Wonder if its to do with FIFA miss-management of it or is there just too much football already out there.
Having said that it is a Euro-centric viewpoint I have, could be massive to everyone elsewhere.

The Brazilian teams and players take it really seriously.

I remember Luiz, Oscar and Ramires talking about as if it was as important as the UCL final to them.

I think South America takes it more serious than Europe, when Liverpool where in it in 2005 the South American team was in Japan 10 days before there semi final to get used to the time zone

Is this the first time it has been played outside of Japan in a while? I think when Man United were in it in 2000 it was in South America but bar that I can only remember it being in Japan.

May kick off if it's moved around. As GavRedKing implied travelling half way around the world at this time of year for two games is not ideal. I think Chelsea played something like 11/12 games in January to catch up.

It was in the UAE in 2009 and 2010.

It was one of the reasons why Neymar stayed an extra season with Santos also.

Is there much money involved in winning it?

Depends on how many opposing players you have to bribe

Bit of a joke when the host team gets to the final.

Having not won any of the qualifying cups.

They qualified by winning the Moroccan league. Not as difficult as the others, I'll grant you that, but they did still have to qualify. They also played two games more than Bayern to reach the final.

No-one complained about Brazil doing the same thing in the recent Confederations Cup.

I was at the first match last week, Raja vs Auckland City. I happened to be in Agadir so I went along for the experience. It was an incredible atmosphere, and Casablanca fans were amazing. A lot of the locals were annoyed at the gloating. Tickets were €15 and it was a brilliant, new stadium. A bit off topic I know, but everyone in Morocco was taking it very seriously, and plenty of people from the UAE had come over for it.

I think it's awesome the hosts got through. Should make for a good atmosphere in the final.

Final is on Saturday, no TV coverage in UK or Ireland. Eurosport have European coverage.

Vanishing spray tested at the Club World Cup will be used at the World Cup in Brazil. Great idea, it has been in use for a while in South America already.

Still tho its the world club cup for champions of the continents.

Hardly going to increase its appeal when this happens.

Bayern are 2-0 up at half time, looks like yet another trophy

Another one to the list for Pep. He'll have at least one more by next May. He's averaging well over a trophy a season at this rate.
