Help with a present!

Hi my girlfriend is currently using an awful vodafone smart phone that's as slow as a boat. I'm wanting to pick her up a cheap android handset for <€100.

I've narrowed it down to the Alcatel one touch idol mini which looks a quality piece of kit for the price (€99)

I've compared specs on gsmarena and the Alcatel seems to be superior in a lot of areas plus it's newer.

I'm leaning towards the Alcatel but has anyone any hands on experience of either or can offer me an outside opinion? Or even if you have any other phones in that price range you could recommend.

Meteor are selling the Moto G for 150 euro, I would definitely go with that if you can get your hands on it. I've had the Huawei and it's grand but you'll end up tearing your hair out after 2 months.

That Moto G is a cracking phone for the price. I don't really want to stretch that far as this is really just a stocking filler but I don't think I can bring myself to spend €99 on the alcatel now after seeing that Motorola for €149... Damn you alpha dog!!

EDIT: But at the end of the day she isn't a tech savvy person at all so I don't think she'd notice (or care) about the differences in the screen and processor.

Trust me, for an extra 50 quid you will be much better off, imagine having to listen to all that whinging when you give her a piece of crap for Xmas... Nothing says I love you like a Moto G

You can get it for £89 from tesco if you jump through some hoops. What vodaphone model is she using?

Ah it's not a piece of crap nice looking phone too, Just remembered it's her birthday Friday as well so the Moto G is defo out the window now

Which phone the Alcatel? Could you show me how please. I'm not sure Vodafone smart I think it's a small one with an awful screen and changeable covers.

Seriously, MotoG is the budget phone of the year. I wish I had gotten my GF that rather than the y300. It was fast at first but is now slow. It's not a hugely popular phone in the modding community so not easy to put cyanogen mod on.

If it's her birthday, just say that you got her the one big present for both. One big present is better than two crappier presents. No offence...
