Ah very good, mine is tapping away at the moment now though, hopefully there'll be no more hiccups.

Pretty sure I've seen people post that they are interested in getting Final Fantasy VIII if it goes on sale. It's at 33% off right now. I don't expect it to go any better, tbh during this sale.

Far Cry 3 not a bad pick at €7.50!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,944 ✭✭✭✭Links234

Girlfriend got me Bioshock 1 & 2 as well as Dishonored DLC as gifts! :D

Might pick up Far Cry 3 myself, but I'm waiting to see what else shows up in the flash sales, etc.

Hey peeps, if ye are interested in Far Cry 3, it's available from amazon.com for $7.49. Every saving helps!

I heard Dishonored DLC is region-locked.
I don't want to buy the GOTY edition so much so that I want to buy the DLC from amazon in the US instead, has anyone tried using amazon's DLC with a European bought Dishonored game?

I picked up both DLC for Dishonoured of US amazon and they worked with my original dishonoured. Not sure where I picked it up though it was deco not Amazon. I'm nearly sure it was from Steam.

Also, keep your eye on The Incredible Adventures Of Van Helsing, I bought it on impulse last sale and absolutely love it, been enjoying my second playthrough of it. It's currently 33% off but I'm guessing it'll be in one of the daily or flash sales sooner or later, and you can grab yourself a really good action RPG for 5 or 6 euro. ;)

    That's my recommendation anyway :D

    Confirmed for brawl.
Eat my money bethesda, no goty sale for you!
I really hope this malarky of selling the DLC more expensively than the goty doesn't become a thing.
Sucks for us folk what bought the game early.

Hope Football Manager 2014 gets a discount. Want to give the classic mode a try, as it's gotten way to complex over the last few years, and i miss getting half a season done in a day.

It's really not that complicated. Most people will get several seasons done in a day of single player. The time consuming stuff is at the beginning. Learning your team and who can play where, selling the deadwood and hunting for players you want, shifting the useless coaches and getting new ones in, tweaking your tactics and set pieces, etc.

Once you have done that, its just really quick turns. And when the next transfer window rolls around, you have intimate knowledge of your team and are only looking for one or two players to improve it and the window flies by. Ofcourse, most people let their assistant managers take the media interviews. They are boring and time consuming. Just let your assistant do them.

The full game is a lot more rewarding. Classic mode is like playing dark souls without the enemies.....sort of pointless.

I've tried a few times in 2012 to get into the full game, but didn't stick with it for long. I just loved the old school CM97/98, with the team management and transfers, but without an insane amount of detail.

Plus, i figure if i do get into the classic mode, it will probably get me into the full mode once i start playing.

Is there any way to purchase Metal Gear Rising at all from the Irish store, or do we just miss out on the pre-order stuff and discount?

At the moment you cant purchase it and the only way to get it is to get it gifted from a person in the eu or uk, It'll probably get sorted but im sure well lose the discount :(

I'd be surprised if it is on sale at any point. FM is one of those (few) series that's rarely discounted because it's just so consistently successful

For what it's worth, I had trouble getting into FM14 and have gone back to FM12

according to reddit, it will be discounted on Xmas day

Even when there's not much I want there are a dozen friends with something on their wish lists I can get them for Christmas. Poor Sarky's wallet.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,452 ✭✭✭✭The_Valeyard

I spent my Steam Money on Star Citizen. :(

May be temped to pick something up.

Still playing Black flag. When that is finished. May buy something else.

Is AssFlag worth a try if you found AssCreed 3 a boring slog with a horribly dull cast (with the sole exception of Haytham)?

The word is that everyone should have skipped 3 and gone straight onto Black Flag.

    SEA SHANTIES!!

15.40 should do for wolf among us

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,640 ✭✭✭Pushtrak

I'm leaving The Wolf Among Us to actually be done. Same with Walking Dead season 2. I prefer the only obstacle to playing the game be on my end, not waiting for the next part to be released.

I would recommend 2013 as it has the classic mode, you can also update the squads/leagues if you want, that's what I am using atm.

How do you update the squads and that? If I could keep doing that I'd happily never buy another fm again. Really liked 13 though I found managing a big team very easy, must start a new game with a lower league side.

Bought it when in alpha - wasnt really playable had no idea what i was doing. Havent touched it since, but would recommend you get some feedback from somebody who played it lately to see if it has improved

Apparently its still a bit sparse but they implemented digging today which is a big step forward. The general consensus is that I'd be better off waiting a while until more content is introduced. I'll lob it on the wishlist anyways so I can check back in later in the year.

XCOM flash sale, with Enemy Within half off! Yoink!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,966 ✭✭✭Syferus

Steam sales have lost a bit of their lustre with Amazon.com and Greenman regularly undercutting them for Steam codes.

Was sizing up X-COM for €9.99 in the sale only to find a complete X-COM collection (all the old games, Enemy Unknown and all the DLC besides Enemy Within) for $9.99 on Amazon.com.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

Enemy within at 50% off was too tempting. And it's hidden away! The have the original XCOM enemy unknown in the flash sale at 75%......they should be showing the newer expansion on the front page!

So that's Typing of the Dead, XCOM enemy within and The Wolf Among us this sale.

Only thing I'm waiting for now is DayZ and I can't see that dropping because it's so new. Still, even 10% is something and will see me pull the trigger so heres hoping.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,603 ✭✭✭Mal-Adjusted

Got Half-Life Blue Shift and Opposing Force for €2.49 each, System Shock 2 at 50% off and Final Fantasy VIII at 30% off :D

Well, my first steam purchase ( made yesterday ) is a freaking AWESOME. I fired up dragon Commander only today and I am already in LOVE! Steampunk at its best, turn based Strategy, real time strategy, Card game, Political game and the best thing, you are a freaking dragon with a Jetpack on your arse, how could anyone top that?!

Haven't bought anything in the Steam Sale, but bought Brothers on Amazon, forgetting it needed a controller. Oi vey.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,571 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Been pretty disappointed so far, the only thing that's really tempted me so far is the Bioshock Triple Pack but probably won't even take the plunge on that.

  • Administrators, Computer Games Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,532 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Mickeroo

I picked up Fez, but only because I managed to get the funds together by selling off trading cards.

Doubt I'll be buying anything else.
