Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

just watched it. if footballers were half the person this guy is off the pitch they'd be something. every penny sponsorship since 08 gone towards charity for the kids there and currently using it to improve the whole ivory coast health system.

Don't think he's the only one by any means. A lot of the great work done by footballers goes unrecognised because they're footballers.

    Bit of a diver though...

theres a difference in giving it to charity than the taxman. (not saying thats what your talkin about) but this is on a different scale. and the thing with the civil war. fair play to him.

It's not. There's plenty of great people in football doing great work - just look at Craig Bellamy's work in Sierra Leone. But yeah, Drogba is really making a difference.

    fair play to him too...

Drogba was a bo**ocks with his on field antics, hell even Chelsea fans would admit it but his work for charities back home is amazing, the guy is revered in the Ivory Coast.

A lot of footballers do excellent work with charities that also go unnoticed, the rags dont report it as well when multi millionaire is giving money to charities as the juicy "gossips" and wanna be wags have more interesting stories to sell.

Never liked him because of his on field play acting but I read about his charitable actions before he left Chelsea and I had to change my opinion of him. What a man . As someone else said , its a pity other footballers dont take a leaf out of his book more often.

As were Keane and Viera, they all have one thing in common.....winners.

Drogba does seem like he actually gives a **** about his homeland off the pitch.

In all fairness, what happens on a football field matters very little in the grand scheme of things.
This man is making a very real difference in his home country and is to be lauded for it.

    (hated the pr**k though)

Gotta love Drogba, ultimate panto villain on the pitch(well before Suarez stepped on the scene) and all round deadly human being off it.

Now, when the fck is Glenn Whelan gonna get his act together and send home all his sponsorship and endorsement money to help out with this poxy recession.

Drogba copped on the last few years he was with Chelsea and changed his ways. Massive respect for him

Nope, he still had his moments, and plenty of them.

Despite that I have a huge respect for him and would have given a lot to see him in the red of United

Why do people think that footballer's behaviour and winning mentality means anything about their character or morales off the pitch?

    Respect.

Drogba a legend on and off the pitch.

Can’t wait for his return to the bridge :)

Always assumed he was a bit of an eejit off the pitch but my opinion has changed. Seems like a great lad.

As an Arsenal fan used to hate the sight of him as he somehow used singlehandedly bully our whole team anytime chelsea played us...

But wow he is an amazing guy and that docu was a real eye opener and a great watch never knew about his grandmother dying the week of the Champions league final , Kind of put his red card into perspective realy amazing guy, I even enjoyed this more than the keane one before it
