Good place for night sky views near Dublin ?

    Hi,
    I was wondering is there good spots outside Dublin - but reasonably close
    to get nice night views of the night sky ?

    I will be back in Dublin for Christmas and will also be in Wexford perhaps for one night, I really want to try and get some good shots of the night sky.

    I was in Arizona recently and unfortunately there was full moon while I was there so the light pollution ruined the sky for me ...

    I remember when I was a kid my Dad would take me out to the back roads near Portmarnock and you could see the milky way + Haileys Comet (1986 ? )

    No chance of that now I guess with all the light pollution ...

    Hello,

    The Dublin Stargazers meet up at the Sugarloaf car park which is a fairly dark site. They also go further south to Trooperstown which is mush darker.
