Gonna start with mine, been a great year for gigs, nominated 4 myself (Hatebreed, Slayer, Dropkicks and Tenacious D)

As only 2 of mine made it onto the list i have to go with Slayer, just an immense set from a great band in a venue that was 10 times too small for them

Been to 3 on the list.

Its very hard to compare a club sized gig in the Button Factory to a gig at the Aviva.

Sabbath was special, I have to say.

However, Waters at the Aviva was a gig on a biblical scale.
Crystal clear sound with unrivalled visuals, propped up by a legendary album.

Probably the best show Ive seen, in any year, by any artist.

    Slash @The Olympia
Went with Cattle Decapitation, but could have easily gone with Slayer.

    Cattle Decapitation @The Pint
Airbourne were incredible, one of the best live acts around.
Lordi as well, I went into it with relatively low expectations and was blown away.

    Airbourne @The Academy
Only been to 2 on that list - Death DTA and His Holiness Saul Hudson.

Voted for Death because it was fuckin awesome to see 3/4 of the Human - era line up playing those songs.

The guy Max Phelps who filled Chuck's shoes fair play to him for having the balls and the guitar skills to do it.

Also, Steve DiGorgio is an animal.

    Exodus @Button Factory
Sigur Ros for me, but can't see it winning :D

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Only been to three of the gigs on the list, all three were great, IMO. Due to a combination of factors, though, I had to go with the mighty Slayer.

It was a tough choice for me. My two gigs of the year were Sigur Rós and Slayer.

Both completely different and amazing for different reasons. Sigur Rós had one of the most emotionally intense performances I've ever seen. Jonsi just brings you onto this ethereal plain with the music. And considering how high pitched his vocal style is, it's impressive how well he sang live.

But in the end I can't get the absolute intensity of Slayer's performance out of my head.
I wouldn't be the biggest Slayer fan ever, more a casual listener if anything. I decided to go as I haven't seen them live and felt like I was missing out on seeing such a classic band live.
Needless to say, I was blown away.
The performance was superb, Tom really impressed me with his vocals, and in a venue as small as the Academy the atmosphere was just palpable.
Add in great sound and an incredibly enthusiastic crowd and it's one of the most memorable gigs I've been to.

Roger Waters, didn't think the stadium tour of the wall could beat the arena tour, boy was I wrong. Perfection in the Aviva Stadium that night.

QOTSA in the O2 was simply the highlight of the gig-going calendar in 2013.

Devin Townsend in The Academy. Why he's not in the poll is beyond me.

There was a nomination thread that was open for over a month, any gig with at least 2 nominations made the final poll, Devin didn't even get one
