Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Folks,

I am trying to turn on my gas central heating and when I switch on the boiler a red neon light is flashing for the pump (low presurre icon). I have not used it since last March. I remember the same thing happened around the same time last year when I was using it for the 1st time for a few months and I called out a plumber to look at it. I can recall him giving the boiler (some part) of it a whack with a hammer and it activated and started working. I cant recall what part it was (may have been the pump). Can anyone advice me as to what the problem is and should I just call out a plumber to take a look at iT
Actually the exact same problem is asked in the belo thread. H emtniotns that the pump has seized up as a result of no use for an extended period. Could i fix this myself or would I need to call out a professional?

Don't call back that plumber or his hammer. What's the reading on your pressure gauge? I'd say your pump is probably stuck and needs to be turned to get it going. If it's inside your boiler you need an RGI to look at it not a plumber.

Thanks for the advice. How do you turn it or would i need to call someone in to do this?

If the pump is inside the boiler call an Rgi. Either way I'd reccomend you call an rgi

sounds like the water pressure switch is blocked or the diagram is split

Does Charlie do special hammers for the boilers? :)

Could be flow switch diaphragm or blocked flow switch aswell . Get someone decent to have a look at it , should be straightforward
