Hello,
I need help as to what this 'thing' is. (what to call it, is it a cap badge for example) , and also understand what the numbers and initials KC mean.
The harp is or looks like it's soldered onto the brass round.The hole doesn't seem to belong to the piece, probably made by someone who wanted to wear this on a necklace. (very poorly placed hole in my opinion)
Going by the crown I would say this is Victorian

I have seen similar tags before and if my memory serves me correctly, these are horse number tags.
