    anyone know... does the city council have the power to ask/compel a private landowner/property manager of a site that is readily visible from a popular public by-way to maintain their space in a litter-free and neat manner or is it none of the public's business? I'm thinking here of the back of the shops at Newtownsmith that face the river (Born etc) which have a good deal of discarded material scattered at the back of the shop on either side of the café windows and out of view of the diners. is it any of our business if they want to treat the back of their premises as a dumping ground?

    Saw that alright. It looks horrible from the river walk. Wouldn't even be a big job to put a bit of organisation on it either. Might ask them whats the story when im in there next
