Anything from Heavy Metal to Irish country but it has to have been released in 2013.

    My top 3

    Passenger - Let her go
    Boyce Avenue - Stay
    Editors - Bird of prey

So we can pick songs that haven't actually been released?

Very though to pick just one, my top five songs of 2013 in no particular order would be as follows. I'm not going to post a load of Youtube videos as they'll take up too much space so I'll just put links if you want to listen to them.

    Chvrches - Gun
Chvrches were the defining band of 2013 for me. This is a gem of a pop song with unforgettable hooks and some great lyrics. However, The Mother We Share probably would have featured here had it not been released in 2012.

    No Joy - Slug Night
I had pretty much given up on new shoegaze bands until I heard this band. This song from their second album Wait To Pleasure was another gem of a tune. It's great to hear bands like this actually pack in killer hooks rather than just hiding behind their effects pedals.

Camera Obscura - Fifth in Line to the Throne
Their latest album Desire Lines was a bit of a disappointment for me. However, one track that really did stand out was this gorgeously sad song. One of my favourites by the band.

The Knife - Full of Fire
Shaking the Habitual took me a few listen to really get into but this song clicked with me straight away. There's something so strangely hypnotic about it with its morphing beats and Karin's vocals. It's a song that manages to be completely out there yet memorable.

    Arcade Fire - Porno
I'm slowly warming up to their new album Reflektor but this was one song that caught me straight away. Probably the most downright sexiest song they've ever recorded, and one of the best too.

Justin Timberlake -Mirrors-I just adore this song.

Almost forgot this gem by London Grammar.
    Didn't get enough airplay though.

My choice too. I loved how unhinged and spontaneous it is, contrary to most electronic music out there.
