Wouldn't want to be in the caravan in Youghal.

    Be scared.

This is ridiculous, it's only am arm or a front and we're getting this? And ye're Northside, I've stupid readings from my weather station and I'm in the sheltered south.

i was in a caravan for last year's summer storm. never again.

i can only imagine what kind of readings i would get if my weather station was still working

Cork Airport is on an elevation, would this make it more gusty compared to Dublin or Shannon?

And to think they could have built it down near Midleton.

This was forecast by Maq and MT I think

Also the winds will be changing direction a bit, so you could be more sheltered from the next "phase". You'll find out in a few hours anyway!

Have been watching this progress for the last couple of hours. I'm really surprised at how quick the temperature has risen. In 3 hours temperatures have risen by 6.5 degree.
I have a new weather station and the highest gust recorded on my weather station was 97.5km, Could this be right? I'm in Laois

Are rising temperatures indicative of more serious storms due to it being a greater energy system?

There is somewhat of a lull here in the Tipp - Limerick border at the moment, still windy but the gusts seem to have died down for now.

Slight lull here too. The odd strong gust still

The Aer Lingus and Ryanair due into cork didn't even bother making an approach or hold, both diverted straight to Shannon.

Been very gusty for a while now in Dublin 5 at the coast. Cars covered in leaves and various debris.

aer lingus backed out of an approach at shannon. ryanair trying it now

Winds have died right down here in Limerick at the moment

It's more of a location issue as the strongest winds will be affecting the Southwest of the country. Airports are normally in quite flat and exposed areas with little shelter and will experience the full force of the wind.

    FYP ;-)

Ryanair jet fails to land at Shannon on approach...just when they thought it would act as an appropriate valve for flights.

last flight from london heathrow to cork is not even gonna try. it's been cancelled

My horses have never been so keen to get brought into the stables at night....Im even going to bring the dog in, just in case his kennel takes off! Its very very windy now and my house is surrounded by large trees.

My horses are out! Terrified the stables will collapse so they are better off behind the hedge (I hope)
