Just in the door from putting up downed cables on the north side of Dublin.
Bit hairy going up a ladder, luckily it was a sheltered spot.
I found the loose objects flying down the road more of a hazard than the wind.
Rain into the face in that wind certainly stung.:D

    Fair play!

If that's a question, the answer is no. Those aren't just "flights", they are planes full of dozens people in genuine danger, if the pilots don't make the right choices about where to go and what to do.

Slight OTT. . . . Bumpy landing alright. . . Lives in Danger?

If your not in the ESB stay away from downed lines.

well the reason they go around is because they think they might crash it.

Just travelled M6 M4 from Roscommon, change of jocks needed. Absolutley crazy winds out there. Nearly blown off the road on a few occasions. Stay safe folks!

If all the airports are too dangerous to land and they are running low on fuel??

Got quiet for about half an hour here in Kildare but gusts starting to pick up again...

They weren't ESB cables. Although the ESB were called out too. Road was blocked so they had to be taken up out of the way. Thankfully I'm off duty for the rest of the night. A few beers are calling my name.

Tried reporting to esb but theyve just got a generic message saying we know your power is gone. The storm is less fun now.

Am nearby but not living along it, very heavy rain here and no sign of it letting up, would say it's probably close to flooding.

Bit off topic, but a worthwhile safety message:

Do not even THINK about approaching fallen ESB / NIE power lines. Even if you think they're dead, they can be switched back on again by automatically resetting breakers clearing faults.

Stay well, well away and just call 1850 372 999 (ESB Networks) 0845 764 3643 (NIE Northern Ireland)

    Quite enough in Lucan.

Back from walking the dog. It is gusty enough but Lough Corrib is much calmer than I thought it would be. There doesn't seem to be many branches down yet. Nothing extraordinary yet.

Rain at its worst so far in South Dublin. Very heavy

Very heavy rain in Castlebar, found a lot of side roads with a lot of flash floods and the wind I would rate about 60% of the big storm last week.

Careful Space Time, the mods don't want anything other than the weather been discussed on here even if it has to do with weather, strange but true!

Why is the wind going down in Cobh but up in Spike which are just a few hundred meters from each other in Cork Harbour?l

This is insignificant in this situation, there will be no sailing craft, dingies or students out on the waters of the harbour.

The harbour can create it's own 'micro climate' in otherwise good weather and might attract day sailors and leisure pursuits when conditions in the actual harbour may not in fact suit such pursuits.

133 km/h gust at Kinsale Energy. Sustained winds just below violent storm force.

Wow, the rain just arrived in Dublin 5. So heavy it knocked off the Sky signal for a minute.
