Surly it can't land in that wind.

Still some big gusts in Arklow but maybe a bit less frequent.

M.T, I must confess to having grabbed about an hour of shut eye :)

Don't want to miss much of this long overdue weather event but I need to be able to function in the morning too.

Your updates and input have been both fantastic and spot on.

Any idea when the worst should be hitting us. In North Dublin at the moment terrified to go asleep in case anything happens.

A small piece of the front of the house near the roof has partly come off and is banging loudly against the house! So loud I thought it was the gate! Must sleep, I refuse to let the wind win! Wind seems to be getting stronger in Clare.

There was a lull here for a couple of hours but the wind has built up again big time - North Co. Cork

No it's Dublin he's just coming in that route because of jet stream

Up in Belfast for the holidays, I'm terrified what state I'll find my house in when I get back to Tralee on Saturday.

Looking on this website I see the eye of the storm is off the north west coast, does anybody know which way the storm is travelling? And will it get worse? Apologies for my ignorance.

The worst of it so far is hitting Dublin 4 at the moment, scary stuff!

Think a roof tile just came off the roof just now.

I feel bad for the people with no power and internet who can't share what is going on where they are.

  • Registered Users Posts: 222 ✭✭horsefarm

Its bad in the mountainy part of Dublin. Is it to get worse?

Also, Tactical's been up about 96 hours straight keeping yer communications going. Me, I slept at least an hour in there somewhere, had a dream there was weather at my house. Ridiculous what comes into my mind at times. :)

I must say thank you by the way M.T. I don't know where this forum would be without you. Thanks for taking the time every day to make a forecast for a region in which you don't even live. I'm sure I speak for most people on here when I say it is most appreciated. I check your forecast first thing in the morning before I leave for work and at the weekends before I head out flying.

Thanks very much M.T. and a Happy New Year to you and your family :)

Particularly bad squall in West Limerick at the moment, accompanied by multiple brief ESB interruptions.

great news, hopefully thats an area specific tornado or something...

reality is that Dublin is quiet calm compared to the south and west coasts

Confirm that I am located in Dublin 2 , on the Top 3rd Floor of an Apartment Block ...those new Air vents tiles installed in my roof last year are not looking like a good idea now:(. Will have to check all is well when we have full morning sunlight

If two tree branches broke in Dublin RTE would spend at least 20mins with it as the main headline even if half the west coast was lying in ruins. Expect them to give about 2mins of Pascal Sheehy coverage tomorrow on the storm and the rest dedicated to how there was 2cms of streetwater in some street in D4.
