Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Big match for both teams, Arsenal havent won in four and desperately need to get back to winning ways, a draw will move them back to top before the evening game however. West Ham hovering just above the relegation zone need a big performance today in the derby and desperatly need a result, will be boosted by the return of Kevin Nolan. Where will the goals come from today for West Ham is going to be interesting. Last season ended 3-1 to the Gunners with Giroud scoring his first league goal.

    Probable lineups:
West Ham: Jaaskelainen, Demel, Tomkins, Collins, Rat, Noble, Diame, Nolan, Joe Cole, Carlton Cole and Jarvis
Arsenal: Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal; Arteta, Flamini; Walcott, Cazorla, Ramsey; Bendtner.

    Prediction: 1-3

    Why?,

need to rest players over this period no? Ozil looks in need if a rest

West Ham: Adrian, O'Brien, Tomkins, Collins, McCartney, Jarvis, Nolan, J Cole, Noble, Diame, C Cole

No Morrison. Nolan back. All points to an all too predictable 2 goal win for Arsenal. I expect us to be in the relegation zone by 5.30 this evening.

Adrian's just been in better form recently. Jussi has made some bad mistakes over the last month and a bit and Adrian was very solid against Spurs in the league cup.

Is it me or is BT panel and especially Michael Owen very anti-Arsenal. Saying our defence is dodgy even though we have one of the best in the league.

Absolute fools. How they can be in a job like that and come out with 'observations' like that. Madness.

Owen's the worst, he's towing the line sometimes for cheering for whoever is agaisn't Arsenal.

Looking at that West Ham line-up, they're a poor side with very little quality at all. Arsenal should win by three or four here.

3 points essential here. And I hope we get goals. Need to be back on top tonight

Where has our passing gone in central midfield? It's been desperate the last few games with stray passes.

I don't know. Been way off lately alright. Especially Ramsey.

Giroud should have got on the end of that

Arteta's tackles a bit sloppy lately

    Too much chopping and changing.

Cazorla looks a lot sharper today I think..

Has there ever been a bigger clogger than Carlton Cole? Absolutely stealing a living from West Ham.

4 seasons scoring double figures (granted one was in the championship). Doesn't exactly sound like "stealing a living" to me.

    We need better than Giroud.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,516 ✭✭✭jonneymendoza

poor so far. Girud is annoying

Allardyce is the anti-football. He only exists in this world as a diametric opposite to Wenger, brian clough and co. I hate him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,553 ✭✭✭Spanish Johnny

Dominant and all as we have been we really need to score or this will get very frustrating.

Yeah. I still remember the 10-15 games where he was unstoppable (Think it was 2009 or 2010). He destroyed Vidic at Upton Park, I think Giggs scored a late winner for a 1-0 but he was outrageous that day.

I doubt it. Being the anti-football and that.

Great hold up play from Cole there

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,443 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

Good play by Carlton. Didn't think Cole was offside.

Far too slow in the build up.
Tipping and tapping across our back 4 and then Chez kicks long.
Much too slow. You'd think we were 3 up FFS.

Joey has to be taken off at HT before he's sent off.

Remy could be a good option for Arsenal imo

    Oh FFS Giroud!!!

Olivier you're killing me here, was too far away from Ozil's but should have buried that one.

Jeez I defend him but he's been terrible today. I think Podolski could do a job there today given that we are playing a lot of it on the ground. He'd surely get on the end of one of these chances.

Be careful what you say you have the Giroud fan club on your back :D

It's been clear for the last few games Giroud isn't good enough to be Arsenal's main man up forward. I doubt we can get anyone of better quality in January to be honest unless Wenger finds someone amazing.

Ollie us un a rut but I still believe when he gets one he will be back on form. Hopefully it does not cost us today though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,409 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

One of those games that we should be 2 or 3 ahead but we're not and will have to up the tempo in the second half.
Giroud has become very infuriating of late.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 35,514 ✭✭✭✭efb

Leave Giroud alone. We need another striker

    WOW Carltonnnnn
