Like I said, 2-3 years from now they'll pin this loss on him.

I was over in Holland so much this year, I think friends and family thought I had an addiction to Hookers.

Try having lived in Amsterdam for the summer haha, many an awkward question within earshot of family :pac: ....though i nearly wish i'd stayed for the gamepass

Incidentally, what part of Holland? Or just the gamepass haha

KC got rode on the fake punt play, no way was the runner down, fumble and the return should have counted!

I couldn't believe this wasn't highlighted more on the media coverage! I know Andy Reid had nothing to play for in the game but any other coach would have burned a time out and screamed for them to take a look at it upstairs!

You'd feel hard done by if you were a Steelers fan watching..

His helmet came off therefor the play is dead at that moment.

Wasn't explained well, but correct call IMO.

It's non reviewable. Regarding the spot it's nigh on impossible to actually see where the ball is from any angle I've seen. Whatever about the ref blowing the call i don't think there was anywhere close to enough evidence to overturn it on review and he certainly couldn't challenge it.
Per a league source, Leavy determined that Weddle’s forward progress had been stopped before the fumble. Right or wrong, the decision could not be reviewed.

  • To be honest it's madness that any decision can't be reviewed in thus day and age

Yeah but where do you stop ? Everything shouldn't be reviewable as why do we have an officiating crew then ?

Everything should be challengeable tbh. The refs get one shot to see something and can make mistakes

No i understand you can't review everything, but (and i know i have been corrected about this instance) but last night where in OT you have a fumble recovery TD which ends the game / ends the chargers year / puts another team in the playoffs and it isn't so much as given the time of day by the officials. Then you see them make a ham out of an inbound catch call in the 1st quarter of a game that doesn't matter...

Steelers fans will feel even worse then they already do.

    NFL statement regarding Chiefs-Chargers game

With 0:08 remaining in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers, Kansas City faced a fourth-and-12 from the San Diego 23. The Chiefs attempted a 41-yard field that was no good.

On the play, San Diego lined up with seven men on one side of the snapper. This should have been penalized as an illegal formation by the defense.

Rule 9, Section 1, Article 3 (b) (1) of the NFL Rule Book (page 51) states that “No more than six Team B players may be on the line of scrimmage on either side of the snapper at the snap.”

The penalty for illegal formation by the defense is a loss of five yards. This is not subject to instant replay review. Had the penalty been assessed, it would have resulted in a fourth-and-seven from the San Diego 18 with 0:04 remaining, enabling the Chiefs to attempt a 36-yard field goal.

Steelers fans should just grow a pair and stop complaining. Behind the steel curtain is hilarious to read today. It's not like they haven't had some bad (no) calls go there way this year

Easy to say when you're in the playoffs after some very questionable officiating.

Yeah it is really easy. I'm a Chelsea fan and two major decisions that stand out are
    1. Henry Hand Ball
    2. Chelsea vs Barcelona Champions League Semi-Final

You take it on the chin and get on with it.

why should they have to take it on the chin. after the henry hand ball did you instantly say "oh well" i doubt it.

its worse in football because the technology is already there to prevent that crap it should not be happening.

Actually I just went back to work and put it out of my head. Did I think it was a bad call? Yes. Did I talk about it after? Yes. Did I whine saying France were undeserving? No.

The technology is absolutely not there in the NFL, it's better than other sports but it most certainly is not there. Also the rules are a major inhibitor on technology being applied

The fact that you brought up two incidents that happened ~4 years ago shows you didn't take it on the chin too quickly.

Also the fact that you're on a steelers blog clearly looking for reactions suggests you don't think its so unreasonable.

I don't think any true fan would take what happened and just get over it straight away.

Heh, since when does remembering something mean you didn't get over it? I can also remember getting dumped by my first girlfriend. I guess I'm not over that either :)

Yes, the true fan argument, well played

Well played? I'm deadly serious. I still find myself bothered bygames from years ago. I would genuinely not expect any half serious Steelers fan to be over it by now.

Nah mate, c'mon, how long do you want a game to last, 6 hours?

Let's have a bit of sense here, no set of officials will get every call 100% right

Get a grip buddy. schidt happens, suck it up

its a multi billion dollar business schidt shouldn't happen

Steeler fans can feel slightly aggrieved today, but you need to take care of your own business, and while they did that on Sunday, they failed to do so throughout the season.

If you're relying on a team that has already made the playoffs and can't improve their own position on the last day of the season, then surely you can't gripe too much if the game doesn't go your way.

Would be pissed off if I was a Steelers fan. A subjective thing like holding, DPI, fine, suck it up. Something that's clearly wrong like an illegal formation on a game-deciding field goal is something to be pissed off about. Seemed to affect the kick as well, the way they overloaded that side.

Not sure how the officials can miss this, would've thought it's one of the main things to look for on a field-goal attempt.

If only Pittsburgh got rid of those damned ping pong tables a week or two earlier...

    i agree with this

one thing that has become clear over the last few years but this year in particular is that the reefing is atrocious in the nfl as i said above its a multi billion dollar industry mistakes should not be happening this regularly.

Except the Chargers were relying on both Miami and Baltimore to lose. And Baltimore played a team already in the playoffs. One who played their starters.
