dogs leg is sore

hi all my 4 year old terriers leg seems to be bothering him,he can walk on it but you cannot pick him up and he cannot jump up either,is this bad? i have a feeling its an infection but i cant see ny open cutts on his leg or paw. help is incedibly appreciated guys thank you in advance.

It could be muscular or to do with the joints. It could be anything really, no-one here can judge because we A can't see him and B can't feel the area. Take him to the vet if you want a definitive answer.
