Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well out of 492 names given, there was only 37 individual footballers.

    Including a LOI player :pac:

These 37 players come from just 18 different countries.

You can see Germany and Spain dominating, Brazil the next one down and then countries with just small percentages.

The players come from just 14 different clubs, 5 Premier League clubs, 3 La Liga clubs, 2 Bundesliga clubs, 2 Ligue 1 clubs & 1 Serie A club.

Again the German Bayern and Spanish Barcelona dominating obviously.

Ronaldo, Messi and Suarez were the only players in every single entry given. Surprisingly Xavi doesn't make it into the top 25.

The list is pretty good, though Ibra's position is skewed down at least one spot by all the clowns who didn't list him.

I'm happy enough with it, there's a few strange placings, Aguero is very high IMO

The team lineup does a good job of highlighting what a startling omission Alaba was aswell, probably the best LB in europe at the minute.

Why is Ribery so high in everyone's estimations?

The media/general footballing world needed a Bayern player to be realistically in the running for the Ballon d'Or and Ribery was the chosen one, even though he hardly stood out by much (if at all) in comparison to Schweinsteiger, Lahm and Robben.

It's led to him becoming very overrated. He's a fine player of course but not near the elite level of Messi or Ronaldo. I'd have Bale, Zlatan, Suarez over him all day long. All imo of course.

Ribery's position is what you'd expect, he's averaging 6/5 in everyone's votes and that's why he is so high in the final list. His contribution in 2013 is impressive with 24 goals and 23 assists, people will remember his performances in the CL in the 7-0 over two legs at Barca and then in the final.

He finished ahead of Robben, Schweinsteiger and Müller in the Balon D'Or who were all in the top 7 so that will have an effect on the votes as well.

Not sure how surprised you can be with that really.
