Not having much luck with these draws:

    Rd 1 - 1
    Rd 2 - 20
    Rd 3 - 7
    Rd 4 - 14
    Rd 5 - 20
    Rd 6 - 19
    Rd 7 - 12
    Rd 8 - 14
    Rd 9 - 19

    Average draw: 14

Been last twice and been second-last twice.

Not had a top ten draw since round three.

    Not gonna lie, it's disheartening.

I genuinely feel for you MNG that is rough! You're handling it better than I would

It happens to someone every year doesn't it.. Pretty sure D2D was in the bottom 10 every round one year

Sorry folks for my pity parade. Just every time I see a new draw I'm convinced this will be a better one for me.

walt's right about D2D, though. He had it worse than me that one year. Far worse.

I'll take it on the chin and try to think up some nice strategies.

Anyone done up the "average" draw stats? Usually everyone ends up between 7-13.

Plus it will benefit people in rounds 13-15 to be lower...

    Ahem...

    Well that doesn't look good

    SJpVi.gif

On the upside, I did say everyone should be between 7 and 13, and everyone bar Beaker and MNG are actually there now.

I hope mrkiscool comes online, or I fear he will be the first to fall to the dreaded 24 hour rule.

    *SOME MORE STATS*

I did some of these last year after round 15. I'm going to do it now because I'm free (as an exhausted bird) this morning.

Who has had the most interesting draft?
By this I mean, who rides the high and low tides when it comes to draft numbers? Who's heart has taken the biggest beating, and might occasionally just like to be 10th?

Well, maybe it's because there's only been 9 rounds but we're less deviant from our average picks than last year. The person with the most variety is TeamShadowClan, with an average deviation of 5.9 from his average pick of 7.6. That means TSC could expect to be around 2nd or 13th in any given round. 5 times he was either 2nd, 13th, or within one place of those. In other words, he's all over the place, which might explain why he's taken to cheating. :p

JK, if anything it proves that he's not really got a massive advantage from having the best possible average.

    Special Mention
Three players have gone from 1st to 20th or vice verse in successive rounds. MNG and Mrkiscool did it in Rounds 1 and 2 courtesy of the order reversal, with MNG having picked first and Mrkiscool getting two picks in a row.

BrianRegan, however, took Lady Luck for a one-night affair and never called her, coming 1st in round 7 only to be relegated to 20th in round 8.

Who could snooze through it all?
Campo, that's who. With a standard deviation of just 2.1, Campo could only really expect to find himself in the lower mid-table, between 10th and 14th. He has, however, twice gone so far as to get 16th, and once got to the dazzling heights of 9. His average pick is 12.3, which is, however, not average, but considerably worse. He lingers in 17th on the "average picks" league table, as BrianRegan has already shown us.

    Extremities
Only one person has been placed last twice: MNG. No one has placed first twice.

TeamShadowClan has been in the top 3 four times - more than anyone else, although several people come close with three rounds in the top 3. Mrkiscool is one of these, and yet their average pick is only a very average 10.1. Waltersobchak has a marginally higher average (9.9) and yet has never been in the top 3.

Connemara Man, Campo and Jester252 join Walter in having never been in the top 3.

Walter and Campo have also never been in the bottom 3. Furious Red has also managed this.

While I myself have the 2nd worst average, it may appear Ive been disadvantaged. I disagree with that notion as the only thing that bothered me is the wait in between picks. If picks ive fancied have gone before it reaches me, it has made me adapt and think outside the box. My rosters future picks change with every round has one or two potential picks get taken by others.

I personally have done well with who Ive picked despite my bad luck. Its kept me on my toes and as of right now, my roster is in great shape in my head.

hope mrkiscool2 gets on before the next 90 minutes so he can get his pick in

In previous years it looks like the roster was divided up between the remaining guys

Bit earlt to be thinking hes dropped out though. Id say hes just been unable to go online the last few days.

Exactly, what happens here is he gets put the number 20 spot on this turn.

If someone drops out two things happen, either a person on the reserve list gets the roster or the picks get drafted out in some fashion. One year we were able to pick from that persons roster and another year the picks were given a random number between 1 - 15, you picked a number and you got that person.

No i wasn't saying he was dropping out at all, Just as im new i wanted to know how it did happen lol, Because i saw in the sign up thread or one of those before the draft thread that ye had a few dropouts in previous years

With under 30 mintues now, looks like JP Liz is next up.

Yeah I believe DM-ICE is on the backup list this year and at least one more iirc still dont expect to need backups considering how this has gone so far but every year it seems someone is unavoidable unable to finish.

Out of curiosity, how long doesnt a person have to be absent for them to be deemed unable to continue?

I think there's been drop outs every year from memory; for various reasons obviously.

If it wasn't for a dropout I wouldn't of been involved last year, and wouldn't of taken part this year
