Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Want to get a set of good headphones........

    Primary use CDs and YouTube.

Laptop sound card isn't up to much though

So if I buy a €50 set of USB headphones am I waisting my time due to thE laptop sound card not being up to much ?

I guess a €50 3.5mm set of headphones wouldn't be much use again due to I the sound card

In situation do I really need to buy a USB sound card for the laptop

Portable headphone amp/DAC might do the job. Like an external soundcard and amp for headphones. I think Fiio do some.

Fiio E7 can be picked up on Amazon for about €90, just recieved mine yesterday and giving it its first proper listen now. Fantastic so far.

A good pair of headphones will still (typically) sound better than a bad pair on a weak laptop soundcard. Headphones with USB cables aren't usually very good, so I would recommend getting 3.5mm headphones first then you can think about an external USB soundcard when you want a further upgrade.

Kinda need both, half decent earphones, decent output. One without the other is a bit pointless. Other than you can use the earphones with other devices.
