Last four were in Reverse order...

Quasimoto's last album (underground US Hip hop)
    Best of Madonna
    Best of The Pixies
    80s electronic anthems

    Which Madonna compilation?

It beggars belief that it's now 2014 and there's still quite a number of Madonna's single edits and extended versions that have never been released on CD.

    Same for Prince.

Just a bog standard comp called Celebration. As an electronic music guy with a mind for the dance-floor, tracks like Get into the groove, and Dress you up, really are track dance tracks.

As regards Prince, there is supposedly an incredible amount of material in the 'vault'. I read a fantastic biography recently about him. Interesting guy.

I got a record player as a birthday present last week so I'm on a vinyl binge at the moment. I'm just looking for albums that I really love, it's not really bothering me as to whether or not I have them on my ipod already. If I love the album then I just want the vinyl version.

Anyway, Trouble Will Find Me arrived in the post yesterday and I ordered the ...Like Clockwork Deluxe version and Songs For The Deaf Thursday night.

Can't beat a bit of physical music! Nothing like knowing you actually have a music collection :D

Sorry kids, but a hard drive full of digital files, although very convenient, aren't the same!

Too right they are not, I got fed up of buying music and not actually owning anything! It's the same with my DVD's. I want to actually have the hard copy.

I'm spending all of my time on ebay now, I'm after spying Seasick Steve's "Man from Another Time" going relatively cheap. I might make a purchase later on.:)

The Darkness - Permission to Land
Not a huge fan of The Darkness, needed something to listen to in the car, a shop had a big sale section, looked through it, it was the only CD that interested me at all, I gotta admit, for a band I used to hate, it's not half bad, they really are a step above most rock artists these days.

@ Salvation army alot of tapes came in today and I got 3!

    1) Madonna - No name on it (Must be her first album)
    2) In Excess - Kick
    3) The Best of Kansas

I was quite sad to read in the details of this tape this about the first and last songs (THIER BEST OF ALL OF THEM)

"Remixed for this album using the dbx digital audio processor"

Both of those songs SOUNDED LIKE CRAP compared to the rest of the cassette!! (Carry on Wayward son and The Wall)

I was PISSED that they would COMPROMISE THIER MUSIC like that!!

I recorded BLANKNESS over both songs.... (Now there is a gap @ the start of side 1 and @ the end of side 2) -- TWO BEAUTIFUL SONGS RUINED BY THAT TRASH!!

If I can find both songs seperate,I will record them back onto the tape.. I dont wanna hear those songs compromised like that!! -- IDIOTS..

I also got PINK FLOYD - THE WALL on VHS! (An original release (Before they digitally compromised it)) That was quite good!!

    I got 3 records today!

    1) Kansas - Point of Know Return (1977) -- Doesnt sound too good. On the album it says "This album was aphex processed" -- I looked up "Aphex processing" and discovered what it is.... DOESNT MAKE IT SOUND BETTER IN MY OPINION!! (The cassette I have "The best of Kansas" sounds better!!)

I probably wont keep it...... (Its sad, people do stupid things to try and make stuff SOUND BETTER but in reality it makes it worse!!)

I hope they didnt mess up thier 1975 album like this (The one with "CARRY ON WAYWARD SON") Im still trying to find this one!!

    2) Heart - Bebe Le Strange (1980)

    3) Paul Simons Greatest Hits

    I also got a 45!

Steely Dan - Only a fool/Reeling in the years (I have this song on my STEELY DAN 'GREATEST HITS' collection (2 record set))

First time I have heard ONLY A FOOL -- I like it!!

    Lush - Gala LP

Nice compilation of the first three releases.
Deadly cover of Hey Hey Helen.
I bought it in DTK when they were in the Abbey Mall.

Saw Lush in the Rock Garden, 31 January 1992. Serious moshing. Spooky had come out the previous Monday. I had just turned 20. So much energy in those days.

It has most of my favourite Lush songs on it.
De-luxe (the ultimate Lush track), breeze, Thoughforms (the 2nd vesrion), Etherial, leaves me cold, Scarlet,

The punky tracks are a bit of a let down.

Monster Skies. New compilation from finders keepers.

"As a further testimony to Finders Keepers ongoing collaborations with enthusiastic and likeminded detective labels this lost pop cultural exchange literally spans the entire length and width of the globe to bring you more untravelled and unreleased mutant strains of 60s/70s/80s vintage voltage pop, electronic rock, malformed tape music and zombified funk punk. Monster Skies pools the resources of two of the most unique and studious vinyl snoop-units and plummets the lost vaults, damp cellars and dark corners of this alternative musical universe from either side of the pear-shaped planet."
