Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Try this link (Apple warranty info)

Question: If the guy's work gave him a laptop/paid for his laptop, but he doesn't need it, how does that make it his to sell?

Hi sorry should have explained better it was given as a payment for extra work done.

Thanks for the links i will check them out. The number should not be assigned to anybody yet I assume as it has not been opened or registered.

Fair enough, that makes more sense…

Info: When I check my own Mac for warranty info, it doesn't confirm my name (or anyone else's), it just confirms that a there is "a valid purchase date", which means that it has been registered after purchase. The date is used to show how long the warranty/phone support lasts for.

The info also confirms what model of Mac it is, and you can confirm its spec at sites like http://mactracker.ca

Still keep your guard up oi your happy with the product and you both agree on a price ask for a written receipt with the serial number written down saying you bought this product from the owner. Then if in the future it's reported "lost" and you have it you were giving some proof of purchase. If on the other hand the seller will not write out a receipt then walk.
I always do this with iPhones etc and as a result never bought one that was later reported as "lost/stolen"

If something has been stolen, none of what you suggest matters.
