    Meath Coast:

High tide today was 10cm lower than Fridays.

Tomorrow afternoons high tide is 30cm lower than Fridays.

Will be interesting to see just how much lower than Fridays it will be, if at all, given the amount of water that is currently getting forced up the Irish Sea.

Image of before and after high tide on Friday. (Facing North & South at same spot).

Max wave energy due to hit Cork/Kerry around 3am but the sheer size of the wave energy will mean it will keep going for many hours. The high tide is due around 8am to 8.30am on South West & West coast (depending on where you are). The high tide times won't change but the impacts will be a combination of the timing of winds, high tides & high seas - if they all come together it's not good ! The saving grace could be that the high tides will be lower tomorrow than last few days but not by much

Press play on this for a view of wave energy

I'm on the west coast of Galicia right now Staying in a house just uphill from the sea. The wind'a not howling, it's screaming and the real show has yet to begin.

Lines of deep convection not far from the west and south coasts now. There arrival will make things more windy.

Although can't see much more than 60kts gusts along the coasts.

Not sure if it's due to a timing difference or whether its running weaker than expected, but Valentia is reporting 17 knot winds at 10pm while the models show it should be more like 30 knots there now. Then again Roches Point is 29, so maybe it doesn't mean anything.

I take it this shot was taken earlier at high tide and not more recently ??

It says "tonight" on the Galway Advertiser. I think that would be normal tide height at that point on the prom for this hour, although I'm open to correction.

Lightning most likey along the SW/W coast overnight. showers wont make it to far inland where most of the energy will be lost then. Anyone along the west coast may see a good deal of lightning.

this thing wont be half as bad as friday but concern and care should be taken,

gusts of 55 knot or more in west

tidal splashing over walls but not as extensive as friday

flooding inland not too serious as showers wont make it that far

atlnatic coasts can mostly cope with the rain due to limestone etc
