anyone know how this is looking to play out around Galway city?

Some minor flooding at Spanish arch & Galway city museum, main issue is in Salthill with prom closed & carparks flooding again

High tide right now and all ok in Donegal Town. No real wind to speak of.

RTE reporter was on live from Salthill as the sea came over, he said he could not believe what he was looking at, one minute the sea was just splashing over then suddenly it rose above the prom and flowed across the road flooding the area in minutes. presume that was the storm surge

is it flooded there already? read a journal article saying it was but it seems to have dissappeared.

It has started raining in Dublin 13 and it's quite dark! Clouds seem to be coming from inland and moving out to sea, but I could be mistaken

Still high enough just off the southwest coast.

When those showers move through here in Cork, the wind is picking up something savage, don't have anything to measure the wind, other than the car which rocks in the wind. A lot of surface water about as well.

Yep, but about 10ft or more lower than expected. High tide has passed now for the places at risk on west coast so hopefully it won't be as bad as feared.

Yeah you can get very strong gusts in those intense showers.

Quite a few sferics being detected over Cork/Kerry at the moment.

The roads in front of Spanish arch by Jury's seem to be ok, it's the small road the other side. Salthill is mostly waves going over the road, and some around aquarium & leisureland. Very minor in comparison to last Fri but I'd say keep off the prom as waves are still spilling over

Reports of flooding in Cork City, the usual spots, not sure how bad yet. Also Cobh is an island again, with Fota Bridge flooded. High tide has come and gone in the harbor area so hopefully will start to go down soon.

@PeterScallan is a member of Wexford RNLI and his twitter feed is interesting for those interested in Wexford situation re floods.

    Peter Scallan @PeterScallan
Wind veering into W, therefore reducing tidal surge. Tide leveling now. No risk #flood in #Wexford. Will be at least 0.6m below top of quay

Flooding in Cork on the north channel of the Lee, down by the Coal Quay. High tide has come and gone, so should be going down now.
