Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

dual system back boiler and oil boiler

I have a stove with back boiler and oil with a fire bird outside b the house. When I have the oil on only it heats all the rads really hot. If I have the fire and oil on the boiler cuts out and only the fire barely heats the rads when back boiler water starts pumping. So when the fire heats the water to a certain temp the oil boiler turns off yet the water would be no where near the temp of the water when the oil boiler is working on its own. Would the pump that kicks in when the fire is hot enough knock of the oil BOILER? There is a stat near the stove that pumps the water from its back boiler when temp is reached. Temp on stove 40 temp on water tank 55 temp on firebird 2.5. Main question can the fires pump say when I'm on , oil boiler turn off regardless of temp.
If I light the fire and turn on central heating the heating stays on til back boiler from fire starts to pump

Electricians probably wired in a priority switch that kills the power to the oil boiler when the solid fuel stove pump kicks in.

Very common when plumbers install them incorrectly as the switch is usually installed upon the instruction of the plumber.

If plumbed correctly, the two should work in unison.
