Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Mother would never let us go because it was a "haven for snogging" or words to that effect!......:D:D:D

She had the notion we wouldn't be concentrating on learning Irish!...;)
LOL:D. Wise woman - your Mam. I have to admit I did my share of snoggin' in Carna in Connemara many moons ago. And I have no doubt my kids did the same in various gaeltachts in later years!!

Mmmmm.....I don't think Delores' voice has lingered over the years.

My god, there's only four chords in Linger... how in God's name did they manage to fk it up!!!! Sound is terrible..

I do love the song (done properly) and if anybody else does they should take a look at this cover.

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,749 ✭✭✭✭grey_so_what

Ah, the sound there is probably terrible.....

    Dolly hasn't a bad voice. :)

What has the number of chords in a song got to do with the sound quality?

It is a mishmash of bad editing so far. They didn't get the start or the end of that song.

Did you not study the science of music in school? They quality of sound is directly proportional to the number of chords in the songs!

Like the way the RTÉ news do their Santa story every Christmas Eve they should record a decent new years show once every 10 years and stick it on every year with the only change being the voiceover for the year. This show looks an exact mirror of last year, bits and pieces from all over the night where you don't know what's live and what's not.

happy new year guys, i was gonna start a thread on the most memorable moments on the late late show and saturday night show threads, but i got too lazy and alcohol has been a feature in tonight as well

The direction of this is awful, the sound is ****. All the references to the great crowd and yet we hear nothing from them. If Rte covered electric picnic each year like the Bbc do glastonbury even for a couple of hours each night that the festival is on they might have some experience hosting a show like this. This is brutal.

They were two separate points... 1. They fked up the start 2. The sound was bad..

Oh ffs, how much is Joe Duffy costing us for the night.. Is he gonna recite the names of every person who died in 2013?

Black leather jacket is Noirín Hegarty, ex editor of The Sunday Tribune and contributor to many radio and TV panel shows...

I'm sick to death of people putting Joe Duffy up on a pedestal as if he was actually somebody worth of admiration.. Supposed socialist, he's on 250K from the pockets of working class people of a broke country for a few hours a week. Joe Duffy is THE biggest hypocrite in the country..

Brainwash RTÉ, they refuse to tell us how much debt we have been signed up to and how much of our resources have been and are being given away by corrupt politicians.
