@grifft,

Hi and welcome to Boards. As a new user on Boards, you might find it useful to have a look at the Boards FAQ here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/faq.php?faq=bie_faq - it gives a useful run-down on the main rules for posting on Boards - most forums here have their own set of rules contained in their own Charter, its worth having a quick read of these before you post in a forum.

I've snipped your post above - please take a moment to read the Charter for this forum, http://www.boards.ie/ttfthread/2055564744, queries here are for Richersounds to deal with. While I understand that it might be your intention to be helpful, it's not appropriate to intervene here, please leave this query to Richersounds.

Offers of advice etc. are usually welcome in the Home Entertainment forums here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=863.

Ritz.

Hey there,

keen to get a home cinema system minus dvd for this tv - http://www.did.ie/sharp-40-led-tv-lc40le240e-prd

http://www.richersounds.com/product/home-cinema-systems/yamaha/yht-199/yama-yht199 is what i was looking at..

will it work with this tv.. and what is the situation regarding hdmi inputs on my tv and this.. as i only have two and they are being used by xbox 360 and an intel nuc?

cheers
Bonkers,

you would normally run all your sources through the Home Cinema amp and then just take a HDMI out from the Home Cinema amp into your TV - the YHT199 has 4 HDMI inputs as well as several legacy inputs so this should work out well for you and allow you to expand your system in the future.

You should also have a look at the RXV375 / NSP40 http://www.richersounds.com/product/speaker-packages/yamaha/nsp40/yama-nsp40-blk combo at £310 - we can discount this down to just £289.95 in the sale but the quality difference over the YHT199 will be amazing - the RXV375 has just received the What Hi-Fi Home Cinema Amplifier of the year award up to £350 - so to get the AV Amp AND a decent 5.1 speaker pack for this money is amazing - have a look at the review here:
http://awards.whathifi.com/awards/2013/home-cinema-amplifiers

The 375 has USB input 4K passthrough and 4 digital inputs as well as 4 HDMI inputs - in sound quality terms it is head an shoulders above the YHT199 for not a huge amount of extra investment and you should have a look at it!

Thanks again and as ever keep us posted if we can assist,

ATVB,
